I'd LMAO when he came to the first hill with a REAL load behind that Tundra ;) :p I'm sure those Texans can round up a 6 horse trailor or 2 that would bring that little 4.7 to it's knee's ;)

Hehehehehehe :) That 5.4 can't come any sooner for Toyota :p If Toyota can make a stump pulling V8 that purrs like a Lexus, mmmmmmm:)

Yeah, but by then the 6.0 PS and Duramax will be pushin the 600lbs of torque from the factory limit and banks will have a 200lbs TQ kit for em for $800.. what good is a 5.4 gonna do ;)

Pretty damned good for a half-ton. The PS and Duramax are stictly HD engines.

Is the 5.4 gonna make it's way to the 1/2 Tundra's now?? if so WHOOO HOOO!!! cause the 4.7 is a POS to the max!

that will be a good move for Toyo.

I don't see why not. Nissan has the 5.6 for the Titan. Toyota would be FOOLISH not to.

As long as you perform routine maintenance on Camrys, they will NOT break down. I get oil changes, tire rotations, etc. Timing belt replaced at 75,000 as usual. My best friend has a '96 Camry LE same color as mine, only he has 105,000 miles. No probs whatsorever. His parents have a '00 Camry LE with 50,000 miles and his sister drives an old 80's Corolla Wagon which is pushing 300,000 miles and still going.

And don't put the small displacement import V8's in the same category with a small block chevy ok? That's what you're doing. A 4.0 liter Lexus V8 can is not in any way the same thing as the 305 in your Firebird.

alright, the northstar v8 in the rather large seville gets the same city as the rl, 3 mpg better highway, and still has gobs more torque and power than acura rl. hell, the automatic vette gets marginally better mileage than the rl. the z06 absolutely rapes the rl, of course its a stick. and when the hell did it become my firebird?

Hasn't broken down, but the EGR valve or sensor needs replacing, the car refuses to start once the engine is warm (at times... it left her stranded one day). The rear driver side window motor broke (would only go down, but not up :|:|:| very annoying) The price to fix it was astrononmical, so she just had the motor disconeccted and the window stays up. And the car feels like a go-kart on the highway (bought brand new tires and had a 4 wheel alignment, still feels very unsafe, nothing is loose up front, my friend said his mom's Camry feels the same way). Not to mention the antenna she broke will cost her $40 for a new one... what a rip. And yesterday, the damn check engine light came on for no apparent reason...I'll add that she takes great care of her car, the rear window that broke was hardly used, she drives like a granny so the motor shouldn't be idling rough (apparently the EGR system in these motors have a tendancy to get flaky), she takes great care of the car and it hasn't taken care of her in return. I'm sure this isn't consistent for Camry's at all, but the crap she's gone through with this one is ridiculous

LOL, ACTUALLY it was about the comparison of cost of parts... I can litterally get a set of EIGHT fuel injectors for the cost of what the ONE injector was we paid for my buddy's Z ONE vs EIGHT!!! you decide who is the winner ;)

maybe the fuel injectors have different flow charactersitscs? I dunno about your injectors, but the one in the Z can handle a lot of cc of fuel, and is often used by supercharged/nitrous-ed/turbo-ed Maximas and other Nissans (where the injector will fit).

But yes i agree, import car parts are expensive, luckyily you rarely replace them. Apart from teh muffler on our old Corolla, we never ahd to buy a new part. Well ok the alternator had to be replaced but it wasn't too expensive.

Umm...are you saying its good to have your tires lose grip at 40 mph and higher? I'm pretty sure I would not want that to happen, in general.

Everything I read said it was their attempt to go 3/4 and 1 ton :(

Man I hope not cause if you are not Diesel in the 3/4 ton world in todays market you are fooling yourself... Gas was an option during the Detroit days, but now, don't even dream it... yeah Gas can get much more power, but at the cost of longevity and almost 3X the fuel.

No way! My truck had better Fuel economy then a diesel. :p

higher demand makes for higher prices.
Only with a limited supply. In reality a higher demand results in increased capacity which increases supply and lowers prices.

Having the ability to break the tires loose at 40mph shows that he has a crapload more power than the average economy car..
