Got Robbed In Atlantic City - Treated Like Crap From Casino & Police

I know from the countless times I have been in AC, a disturbance like what he is describing will have someone call the front desk to report it or someone will literally open their door to look at what is going on. Kinda funny neither of those things happened.

More issues. There is housekeeping, janitors, and room service people all night long, but in all this "commotion" not even any of those folks came across any 6'3-6'6 black linebackers roaming the halls. But yet he is chasing some guy for 7-10 minutes and no one heard or seen anything. Not likely. Especially if the guy is screaming in the hall as he claims.

Add to that, where did he go? He didn't leave obviously.

More problems. Neither guy was drunk, thats a problem, a huge problem. Why? Because here is his story. He sees a shadow of a head, but couldn't tell if it was his friend, but when the cop questioned him about how could he not know if his friend was in the other bed, he said the lights were out. Hmmmm its to dark for you to recognize your friend who is white in the dark, but you can recognize a large black man in the dark. Also why did his friend not wake up in the midst of being hollered for and the supposed "commotion"? He claims he had only one beer.

So while its not totally impossible, if I was the police I would dismiss the guy too.

What I believed happened was his friend was still out, brought one of those nice girls you see all night long in the casino back to the room at 3:45 am. His buddy gets distracted, probably a little tipsy, goes to relieve himself and the sweet looking trick lifted his wallet. His friend wakes him up and they concocted this elaborate story so they can hold the hotel responsible.

One more thing, if the large black man asked for the phone and wallet and both of them were right there, why didn't he take the phone also?

@1 My buddys key was used while I was already out of the room, he says he thinks it was one of the security guards who first responded before I got back up there testing the door

@2 I would have thought the same but it was a tuesday night in Atlantic City, the casinos themselves were pretty empty as we were gaming too, not many table games open and only a few people on slots.

@3 I didnt know if it was my freind because I was lieing in bed watching tv, I did not know whether I had fallen asleep at some point or not. The room was dark but the tv is at the end of the room, the reason I saw the guys shadow was because I left the bathroom light on and the door cracked a bit.

@4 he was asleep before me, while I thought I may have been asleep for a few minutes thus not knowing if my friend was in the bathroom or not, I had been up for the last hour + watching tv even if my friend had gone out and gotten a hooker I would have known however he did not, plus theres the fact that I am a youth minister at the local church and helps there as well when he is not on base for marine things., were not the hooker type.

@5 he got the phone, but dropped it the second I gave chase, he didnt meant to I tihnk I startled him when I jumped out of bed. I thought he had my phone the whole time I was chasing him, which would have been better since I have the gps tracking software on it (mobile me.) however he ++++++++++dropped the phone accidentaly before he was even out of the room.

Key card based locks can be defeated without leaving any record.

Housekeeping does minimal duties during these hours so there is not any disturbances for the guests.

*** **** ***** hotels do have incidents like this happen. Most of the time the perpetrator enters the room from a unlocked room. Security sometimes catches these petty thieves while conducting a high rise check.

I think the story bulls@t also. I tend to believe that the poster was trick rolled also. Also the verbiage used when questioning the police over the legality to drive home without a license is bizarre.
 
true or not, I can absolutely understand why the cops would doubt the story. on the surface, it does seem a bit far fetched (and given the general atmosphere of AC, I can easily imagine that the cops deal with cases of hookers ripping off Johns all the time)

The reason I used that verbiage is I that my friend cannot drive stick shift I can, I wanted to make sure the officer knew that before he said to have my friend drive (since his wallet was not taken)

OK logical explanation while the comment was still out the ordinary.

Now if you’re seeking compensation. You need to find out who the contact is for Risk Management. After they get the results and report from the surveillance dept. They will make an assessment of the incident and advise you if you have a claim or not.

For all that may experience such an incident in the future. Request the shift security chief or their assistant. Ask to file a missing property report and make sure it’s done in the security office. Offer no information but a description of the thief until you’re in the security office. Ask if the security office being recorded on audio also. Most Security Offices in the casinos are recorded, some don’t. If not, request that the interview and missing property report be completed in the detention room or the interrogation room where audio and video is being recorded. Now request that local law enforcement come on property to file a report and investigate. After law enforcement is done interviewing you. Ask them to inquire if there is any video coverage is available during the time of the incident. If any exists surveillance will show it to the acting law enforcement investigator only. Nobody in security or yourself will ever see it or will the results will be revealed to you. Keep your mouth shut and prove the lack of professionalism at a later time.

When Im walking around with a $1000+ in Bossier City, my eye is everywhere. Ive noticied some desparate scary looking people out by the elevators and in the parking lots. They are usually unshaven, have that glazed over look, are sizing you up and down and have exposed tats. I see that and turn right the f around.

OP didn't say black though, he specifically referred to him as "African American" Black would have been a better term to use. As I doubt OP actually asked the guy if he was from Africa. He could have been from any number of the other countries where the people have dark skin. I'm not calling the OP out for using that term I'm sure he didn't mean anything by it. But the assailant could have been from Brazil for all we know, and that would have made him Brazilian not African American.

They're desperate and scary looking because you are hoarding all the money, you selfish greedy rich person ("rich person" being the Democrat's word for anyone who has something more than someone else or who lives a productive life and saves more of their money than they spend over a lifetime).

There is only a finite fixed amount of money in the world. The more you get, comes at the expense of someone else. So let those downtrodden and disenfranchised people equal the score a little next time. Its only right.

This is exactly why every state should be like my home state of Florida and allow concealed weapons permits. It's legal to carry a gun into a casino in Florida as well as in their hotel.
 
Talking about large black men, a friend told me a story about a large black man robber who probably isn't a full-time member of the large black man robber's club.

My friend was robbed at knifepoint by a large black man, and the large black man asked for the usual - wallet, phone, any other valuables. My friend moved to hand over his phone first to the large black man, and told the large black man that he was expecting a call from his girllfriend, who is not a large black man, is in hospital expecting a baby. So could the large black man allow him just one call to his beloved to just tell her he would be tied up for the next few moments and that there were no new developments, which of course did not involve being robbed by a large black man? The large black man agreed, and my friend called the police. The moment he started saying "I'm being robbed at xxxx' the large black man ran off.

My friend is quite smart. He is not a large black man.
