You really filed reports that they made gay jokes?

I find it hard to believe that Bally's wouldn't have camera's in all of their hotel hallways and stairwells.

One of my friends was like that. His roommate sometimes would just drag him out into the dorm hallway and leave him there. The worst part was that his girlfriend would call every morning to wake him up because the alarm clock would not do the trick. But of course the phone didn't wake him up, it woke up the roommate. So my roommate had to answer the phone, turn off the alarm, and wake up Mr. Comatose. Day in... day out...

Yup my roommate last year was one of them. Guy did not wake up to shit. Me and my other roommate would wake up to his 6am alarm. I think that lasted about 2 days until we told him no more fucking alarms.

Damn OP that sucks, hate it when some cops don't do their job the right way and get back to doing nothing as fast as possible.

There is most likely video coverage of the BMA leaving the exit. You will never get access to the video. Nobody gets access to the video outside of the surveillance dept except for the Risk Management Dir to review the incident when needed. If the surveillance dept was able to get a facial shot somewhere in the casino. They will post it as a BOLO and hopefully security will get him before there is another victim.

Are you sure that's not after beer bonging all night at frat house? Normal people do not sleep that heavy..

yes they do, both my roomate and I in college were like that, we would sleep through the dorm fire alarms sober, after the 2nd time it happened they assigned a RA to open our door and physically get us out of bed.

Its the reason i now have an alarm clock the physically shakes my bead

as to the OP, sucks :/

I would call the gaming commission over the casinos and file a complaint, call the local news station, call the higher ups at the police department. I would continue to call around until something was done even if I had to file complaints with everyone and get a hold of the states attorney general (if it got that far).

Make phone calls and continue until you get stuff done.

Some people wonder why folks carry guns everywhere they go.

This story would have been a lot better if your friend had gone Jason Bourne on the cops/security then claimed temporary insanity due to some kind of war flashback. Awesome cops they have in Atlantic City (assuming this story is true...).

Wow, I remember staying at the Tropicana not to long ago and they have camreas in the hallways for precisely this reason. When my door was left ajar or not closed right, a security guard in no more than 5 minutes showed up at my room to check to see if everything was ok.

hm...read post wrong.. edit

Honestly that story does sound far fetched. Getting robbed by a black dude on the boardwalk I can see. Some big black dude running around with key that allows him to enter any room unlogged, highly unlikely. Also the brothers from AC are hard, real hard, I can't imagine anyone of them running from you and a skinny white friend. I agree with the cop on why no one was seen coming out on the cameras. And no way at 3:45 AM you are running through any hotel screaming in the hallway and no one looks out to see what is happening? Not in AC.

I worked with a guy that was robbed at the casinos.

He had several thousand dollars with him. He was ordering drinks and went to the bathroom. He came back and continued to play. He won about two thousand more dollars. He wasn't feeling well so he went outside to get fresh air. He came to about thirty minutes later behind the casinos and no cash. (There was a coworker with him to verify all this.)

He went in and filed a complaint and wanted to see the security footage. They would not allow him to see it. He told them he was getting a lawyer and calling the gaming commission. The casino instantly gave him all his money that was visible back to him.

The dealer was in cahoots with one or two guys. The dealer allowed a guy to drug the drink and then the one or two guys drug him behind the hotel and robbed him.

Once the threat of the gaming commission came up, they did all they could to handle the situation instantly.

See, this is why I never go to casinos...that and the fact that the odds are not in your favor.

Honestly, you need to take your "expert analysis" and shove it.

No matter the size of the thief, he now wants to exit the premises. Stopping to fight only escalates his chances of getting caught by responding security.

OP, I believe your story, with the possible exception that you maybe downplayed the tenor of your responses to the investigating officers.

Once you get on their wrong side, it's all downhill from there. Sorry, but that's just the way it goes. This goes double and triple when you are being questioned by a potential asshole.

You suck it up, never ever get off on any "why are you talking to me that way" tangent, as it will never end in your favor. Unfair? Yes, but life is often unfair, and you have to work within what you're given.

The more he's an asshole, the more you have to "yes, sir" and "no, sir" him to assuage his need to be in control, which even a good cop is trained to seize. Just the way this works.

Your story is such bullshit. You know the hooker stole your money.

Eidetic memory my ass.

There's no way you're stupid enough to not lock the door properly.

I gave an opinion, now here's an expert analysis.

Problems with the story.

The chances a guy has an electronic key that will unlock the door without being logged is impossible. Every key should have an id. (This I can confirm with no problem, my brother in law works security in AC and has for years, I will ask him.) The locksmith recorded his buddy's key but no one else's. So we know the door was working. So unless you believe the locksmith is on it, we know he has no reason to lie. The act is one of a more hostile robber, but the behavior is that of a petty thief. They don't match. A petty thief will try to rob someone and if challenged, run away, but not to the point they are going in 4 and 5 star hotels at 3:30 in the morning.

Now a more hostile robber would, but he is not going to run down a hall with some person chasing him. No, in AC if one those boys breaks in he will more than likely have a gun or some weapon and he ain't running. More problems with his story. I know from the countless times I have been in AC, a disturbance like what he is describing will have someone call the front desk to report it or someone will literally open their door to look at what is going on. Kinda funny neither of those things happened.

More issues. There is housekeeping, janitors, and room service people all night long, but in all this "commotion" not even any of those folks came across any 6'3-6'6 black linebackers roaming the halls. But yet he is chasing some guy for 7-10 minutes and no one heard or seen anything. Not likely. Especially if the guy is screaming in the hall as he claims.

Add to that, where did he go? He didn't leave obviously.

More problems. Neither guy was drunk, thats a problem, a huge problem. Why? Because here is his story. He sees a shadow of a head, but couldn't tell if it was his friend, but when the cop questioned him about how could he not know if his friend was in the other bed, he said the lights were out. Hmmmm its to dark for you to recognize your friend who is white in the dark, but you can recognize a large black man in the dark. Also why did his friend not wake up in the midst of being hollered for and the supposed "commotion"? He claims he had only one beer.

So while its not totally impossible, if I was the police I would dismiss the guy too.

What I believed happened was his friend was still out, brought one of those nice girls you see all night long in the casino back to the room at 3:45 am. His buddy gets distracted, probably a little tipsy, goes to relieve himself and the sweet looking trick lifted his wallet. His friend wakes him up and they concocted this elaborate story so they can hold the hotel responsible.

One more thing, if the large black man asked for the phone and wallet and both of them were right there, why didn't he take the phone also?

You don't learn do you? The police are there to collect their union salaries for 20 years, then retire on a lofty pension sponsored by the local and state government. Maybe once or twice in their careers, they do something productive. Otherwise, they're there to look tough and waste our taxpayer money.
