I would want new wheel(s), and replace the lugs & studs. All of these were likely damaged.

He could be getting a new car, with spinning wheels and dice in the mirror if he plays his cards right.

Why should he be compensated beyond the actual damages?

He shouldn't! The damage is his life was put at serious risk!!

You must know nothing about law.

should i get a lawyer?

I just called them and asked to speak to the man in charge. I talked to him (prob just the supervisor) and he forwarded me to the director of sales and got his answering machine. I left a voicemail stating what happened.

Good thing we have you to be the armchair lawyer.

PA residents with drivers licenses beware: Tomorrow I am filing suit against each and every one of you for putting my life at serious risk every time you get behind the wheel.

Atleast talk to one. It doesn't cost a dime to talk to a lawyer of this kind.

Call a lawyer.

It's hard to sue if there were no damages...sad to say.
Same thing happened to me at Midas...I got nothing in return.

The damages were his life was put at risk! People get serious coin for "emotional distress" all the time. You're telling me not screwing on lugnuts won't result in a successful suit?

He's better off asking for things that WERE directly affected by this than things that have nothing to do with the incident... that would just look like he's trying to capitalize on someone else's mistake.

Anyone who forgets to tighten the lugnuts should NOT be working on cars.

That would be similar to a pilot forgetting to fill the plane up with gas for an intercontinental flight.

Your comment had nothing to do with what I wrote, why'd you quote me?

Yes it did, you said "trying to capitalize on someone else's mistake." You made it sound like, "Oh, just an honest mistake, no big deal."

Oh, so you mean you completely misinterpreted what I wrote and twisted my words to mean what you want...

cap·i·tal·ize (kap'i-tl-iz')
v., -ized, -iz·ing, -iz·es.
v.tr.
To use as or convert into capital.

I neither said nor implied that the guy who screwed up should go unpunished.

Maybe I should sue too. Image the damage that could have been caused to my car when his wheel fell off and he swerved into me. I might have even had a heart attack and died.

Update:

They service rep just called me back and sounded like he was about to cry. I left a message as I said above with strong concern in my voice. He said he wants me to bring in my car tomorrow and at the very least they will fix everything that is wrong with the car. He will be sitting down with his superiors later. He also told me that the store manager called a department meeting about the voicemail that I left and said that at the very least activity like this would lead to the termination of a job. Suggestions on what I say tomorrow? Do I go in there with my arms all up in a fuss and yelling, threaten to sue/go to the news? Or do I go calmly in there (even thought they put my life at risk by my wheel almost falling off) and take whatever they give me without question?

Makes a fuss, that's what old people do to get more.
