Lieutenant Commander

Pick one.

Technically a vet is anyone who has served at least 180 days in active military service. So a dude still in tech school is a vet.

I think in Canada a minimum of three years is required.

I would have asked him for his military background. You could have turned the whole thing around on his dumb ass.

Also, what the fuck is with all of those other people agreeing with him? Are you from some bumfuck southern town? I wouldn't expect those people to value a role that relies on intelligence instead of brute force.

are you an ignorant dumbfuck or do you just play one on the internet?

OP's an idiot for caring about this moron's opinion to the point of getting so heated you got kicked out of a bar. OP got IRL trolled.

If you served in the military, you're a vet. Maybe not a combat veteran, or veteran of foreign war, or other specific titles, but in general, you're a vet if you were in.

This wouldn't have gone well. Insulting these neanderthals manhood with mocking limp wristing and lisping is usually enough to get the ball rolling. That's why I try and stay out of bars where drinks are less than $5.

never try to win an argument in a bar room. : /

you were right OP. your sister has served in the military which qualifies her as a military veteran upon discharge. that is the way it is set up in this country. she will qualify for "veteran" benefits because she IS a veteran.

Umm, no. Wrong.

No, actually I am linguistically and legally correct (with the arguable exception of those discharged under other than honorable conditions - however there is about three metric buttloads of case law which shows that in most situations even those people are legally entitled to call themselves veterans, even though they may be ineligible for specific benefits usually afforded such).

vet·er·an–noun
2. a person who has served in a military force

TITLE 38 > PART I > CHAPTER 1 > § 101

§ 101. Definitions

(2) The term “veteran” means a person who served in the active military, naval, or air service, and who was discharged or released therefrom under conditions other than dishonorable.

2nd Lieutenant
Lieutenant Commander

Pick one.

Given the medical background/history; I would expect that she is a O4 - Lt Commander (Gold Oak Leaf)

Medical degree almost always gets a noob in as an O3 - Capt(USA, USAF, USMC) or Lt (Navy/CG). (Insignia is Dual bars)

no, not really. i just threw that out there to stir things up. some people like to get worked up over other people's opinions (e.g. OP) of course she's a vet.

This is like when on the witness stand.

Were you lying then or lying now?:whiste:

Once you start trolling; people do not now know what to believe.
