What a difference a week makes

Oil back up over $85, gas jumped 30 cents overnight $3.49 to $3.79

Yipeeeeeeeee

Let's let them trash the U.S. economy more, have to get an Oil friendly Republican back in the Oval office

Oil prices above $85 for first time since Sept.

Oil prices jumped 3 percent Monday as fears of another recession retreated.

Economists had started to cut oil price and demand forecasts after the U.S. and European economies stalled in the third quarter. Now actions by European leaders to prop up ailing banks and encouraging economic news in the U.S. have brought oil prices back from 12-month lows.

Oil prices rose Monday along with a broad rally on Wall Street. The Dow Jones industrial average, the Standard & Poor's 500 index and the Nasdaq composite index all rose around 3 percent.

Meanwhile, Royal Dutch Shell said it was forced to shut down one of its oil pipelines in Nigeria because of a leak and couldn't meet production goals. Nigeria is a major supplier of crude to the U.S.

While the U.S. may avoid another recession, rising oil prices could keep retail gasoline prices from sinking as low as some thought they might this year.

that's cuz you live in a shithole.

i paid $3.28 this morning.

i love the fact i'm paying 50 cents LESS than you are.
Actually he lied again. Gas went up about one cent or two recently in Chicago, not $.30.

However, dmcowen also said recently he got fired again and so was moving once more. Who knows what city he's brought his bad luck into now. Hopefully not mine or else gas prices will surely bump a dollar very soon.

It's now down to $3.30 in my area. The prices I've paid have been at over $3/gallon for just over a year now. People have probably gotten used to paying over $3/gallon now.

run the last year history of oil prices and compare to unleaded gasoline

i wish you could have it go back further then a year, it pretty much confirms my feeling that since the most recent spike, gasoline is having an unusual price spike that just won't come down even when oil becomes cheaper.

As I and many others have said, gasoline prices have outpaced oil prices quite a bit, especially in the JUMPS up vs Trickle down areas..

So oil is up less than 5% and gas is up nearly 30%? :hmm:

For the record, gas went as low as $3.15 here in Lexington but jumped to $3.35 the very day that oil turned around from it's low just over a week or so ago.

Getting closer to going back over $4 here.

Up another 2 cents putting it back over $3.80 to $3.81

People have not gotten "used" to it here.

There are abandoned cars all over the place and things are getting worse.

This jump in gasoline prices is one the main factors that has destroyed America and of course all Obama's fault.

We're not QUITE destroyed yet. On the other hand, perhaps it's time that Chicago seeks adult supervision and decides whether it truly needs and can afford its own boutique blends of gasoline. I paid $3.26.9 this weekend, and while that's high, and definitely economically damaging, that's probably more or less the new market price as we've proven we'll pay that without significantly cutting back on our consumption.

Damn, WhipperSnapper, 83 pages!

At what point would you call it "destroyed"?

Instead of lying about gas again shouldn't you be looking for another job?

Maybe 25% unemployment and being forced to change our entire way of life. We aren't even near Depression stages yet and we survived that.

Unemployment is at least 25% already. The Government does not collect the numbers correctly and everyone knows it.

Americans have certainly been forced to change and not for the better.

If you are referencing the 1930's depression they did not have the modern infrastructure of today to help cope with the rapid decline they bore.

You are obviously in an area where you don't see what many Americans are dealing with.

Oil close to $90 again

Gas about to breech $4 again in Chicago

Bullshit excuse is:

Oil prices rise near $87 as recession fears ease

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Oil-p...1.html?x=0&sec=topStories&pos=6&asset=&ccode=

Encouraging economic news pushes oil prices up 3 pct., to highest level in nearly a month

A series of encouraging economic reports sparked oil prices Friday, pushing the benchmark to the highest level in nearly a month.Investors shrugged off declining oil demand forecasts that came out earlier this week and focused instead on growing U.S. consumer spending, a rise in bank lending in China and a meeting of world leaders to discuss Europe's debt crisis.

Brent crude, which is used to price oil from foreign countries, rose $3.57, or 3.2 percent, to finish at $114.68 in London.
Prices jumped after China said its inflation rate dropped last month, giving Chinese leaders room to further stimulate the country's economy without overheating it.

Meanwhile, gasoline pump prices rose for a fourth straight day

A gallon of regular is at a record high for this time of year.
