The Chevron station that's close to where I work dropped their price on regular $0.20/gal last night. They went from $3.69 to $3.49.
Yeah, gas prices are slowly, SLOWLY, going down in price, but even so they are still overpriced compared to oil prices which hit $80 mark yesterday and will fall even more today based on the oil futures so far.
$3.36 here in Denver, glad I'm not a dumbass living in some place like Shitcago
I wonder if these gas prices GOING DOWN is just a smoke screen to hide how bad things really are getting?
Could be worse. Could have Asia, Europe, or some of S America's gas prices. We've got it pretty good.
Also, those nations have those prices largely because of taxes. That still makes it painful at the pump, but the extra money goes into government where ideally it would otherwise be replaced with other tax money.404 - Silver lining not found (again). Those "high price" countries have huge gasoline taxes. Regardless, our prices are too high and the OP, as it stands, was correct in that it was a catalyst that killed the economy (again).
Gas has dropped as much as $0.08/gal at the stations close to where I live. We're getting close to being under $3.00/gal. Chevron is at $3.03/gal.
