I was going to put up the 4000th post for this thread, which is by far a record for any thread that I've ever started anywhere, but Doppel beat me to it.

Was $2.96 yesterday. $3.29 today.

Was as low as $2.75 in Winchester, KY (about 15 miles East of Lexington, KY).

Talked to a coworker from Winchester and he stated that gas went from the $2.75 (quoted above) to $3.29 overnight. $0.54 jump overnight is crazy.

Access to tons of oil now completed in Michigan but I'm sure this will not stop the bullshit excuses:

12-26-2012

http://www.detroithoup.com/about-the-project.html

The Detroit Heavy Oil Upgrade Project (DHOUP) will add new equipment at the Detroit refinery - Michigan's only refinery - to process heavy, more viscous crude oils. Once completed, the Detroit refinery will increase its capacity from approximately 106,000 barrels per day (bpd) to 120,000 bpd, resulting in an increase of more than 400,000 gallons of transportation fuels per day. MPC also will add approximately 60 full time employees and 75 full time contractors.

Refinery construction began in June 2008 and is expected to be completed in late 2012.

About Canadian Crude Oil
Canada's Alberta Province, north of Montana, is a source of a plentiful supply of heavy crude oil. The reserves in Canada contain 179 billion barrels of crude oil, placing Canada second only to Saudi Arabia in total world oil reserves.

Waiting for lopped and Jowo to come in and call you and your co-worker liars.
It's quite rude of you to impeach another's character by trying to lot his honesty in with your dishonesty. I hope you are ashamed of your behavior.

It doesn't feel like it since the prices have decreased some lately, but according to AAA 2012 had a record high for the average gas price:

http://www.charlotteobserver.com/20...oline-averaged-record-high.html#storylink=rss

U.S. motorists paid record high prices for gasoline in 2012 as severe weather and political tensions drove up the cost of fuel.

South Carolina, Missouri and Mississippi were the three cheapest states; Hawaii, Alaska and California were the most expensive.

The national average price of gasoline in 2012 was $3.60 a gallon, nine cents more than the previous annual record set last year, said Heathrow, Fla.-based AAA, the nation’s largest motoring group.

Prices touched $3.94 a gallon on April 5 and 6 after crude oil rallied as the United States and

European nations imposed an embargo on Iranian oil exports to pressure the Persian Gulf nation over its nuclear program. Prices sank as low as $3.22 a gallon on Dec. 20 amid lower demand and higher supply in winter, when motor fuel faces looser emissions regulations.

Heard that on the Today show this morning (record 2012 average).

After falling to 2.96 in Lexington, gas proceeded to $3.29 to $3.18 to $3.39 to $3.35 to $3.25 (in about the last 14 days or so). This is at the one station closest to my home as I have not been out much to see prices.

Edit: Sorry, typo on the prices. Now corrected (maybe I was wishing).

Up in MKE, prices at local Shell (average for area) went from 3.09 last week up to 3.29 for couple days and settled back to 3.15 However, the valued customer rewards of $.03/gallon dropped off as of first of year :(

So instead off saving that amount by not going out if the way, Tues and Thurs, I need to swing slightly out of way to hit stations that are lower. And also top off tank when finished shopping in those areas at end of weekend.

2012 in aggregate was the most expensive year for gas ever.

Despite any notable spikes. I expect more of the same in the future honestly. Even since the 1990's this is the trend.
