I'm guessing you worked as a teller/csr. Had the same thing happen to me before. Worked at a bank and didn't really care about the job so I arrived late and didn't show sometimes. They urged me to quit, so they didn't have to fire me, which is the same thing I guess. Anyways, I just setup a few fake references and got another job at another bank. Not sure if they ever called my references either. Entry level positions are nothing to worry about. They're everywhere.

Relax. Search for new job, but in the mean time spend your unemployment $$ on beer and stuff.

Seriously... EVERYONE gets fired every once in a while... I've been fired once... when I was 19... cuz I was late. You just have to eventually learn that at 19... your parents can scream and yell all they want... but none of that really matters. Don't beat yourself up about it. Get another job.... tell your mom to go fzck herself... meet girl.... have babies... don't be like your mom.

The best revenge is doing well.

lol, when I was your age, I got fired for suntanning on the roof of the company's building during working hours. You're young; it's okay to be stupid every once in a while, but it's not okay to whine about what happens because of your stupidity. You need to own up to your mistakes and get your life back together, not run away from your problems.

I think a good lot of you need to sit down, take a deep breath and realize that you are all soul-less, pathetic, and most of all rude bastards. Never have I seen a group of such unsupportive, vile, and utterly anti-social people. It seems as if you wait for a post in which someone is feeling down or depressed and awaken from whatever coffins you slumber in; like some sort of decaying zombies who enjoy feasting on flesh in a medieval crypt.

I just call it as I see it. From his post the OP comes out as an immature, ungrateful spoiled little brat. Life isn't kind to that kind of people. Better he hears the truth now while he can change his ways, than 10 years from now.

LMAO, Did you even read the thread?

Fact 1: You don't get fired for being late just once. If he was fired for being late, that means it wasn't his first time, hence his refrences to "mistakes". He has a poor work ethic.

Fact 2: He posted another thread a week ago asking how to break through password protection so he could surf the internet while he was supposed to be working. If he reached his goal, that means he wasn't doing his job. Hence, he is a poor employee.

If you post this situation on ATOT, why the **** would you expect sympathy?! ATOT is a swift kick in the ass, 24/7.

has anyone have gotten fired b4 AT AGE 19! ?? its fuc king pathetic to get fired from a professional job AT BEING 19:(

nothing wrong with being fired at such a young age...it can be easily covered up...once you're out of school tho and get fired from your career job, then it's much worse...industry is pretty small and word gets around pretty fast....

Its the lessons like these that teach you not to make the mistake again...better to learn it now when you're young than later.

Shit happens--but usually for a reason. You learn and move on. Ask yourself "why was I late?" and remember not to blame others, that way you'll figure out what you did wrong, how to correct it, how to make sure it never happens again etc. I was habitually late to work--never got fired but one day I looked like an ass for missing the first 6 minutes of a meeting with a client who decided to take their business elsewhere. That taught me.

*edit* crap you're 19?? Its not called "running away" anymore, its called "getting a life and moving out"!! ;) Hell I lived with my desi parents while working because it made sense, but only because they didn't give me any sh*t.

Take responsibility, get a job, move out. I bet once you're paying rent you'll never be late again!

HAHAHA!!!! The guy gets fired because he was repeatedly late for work and we are supposed to be supportive of him? Are you expecting us to tell him that it wasn't his fault, that they had no real reason to fire him, and that his mom was wrong to yell at him? HAHAHAHA. This is what the problem with you kids. When you need a good swift kick in the pants and a cuff to the back of the head, you expect everyone to tell you that it is ok Give me a break. the kid screwed up, it was completely his fault and it would be wrong for us to pretend otherwise.
