What'll happen probably depends on your state laws, and while a lawyer might be a good idea they are not necessary.
I got busted along with two friends several years ago for about as much pot as you guys had. Two of us got lawyers, the other kid didn't, and all of us ended up with the same punishment. The possession was dropped in favor of usage and we had to take a day class on drugs or something (I forget what it was). Had to pay a fine ($100-$200 IIRC) and be on probation for six months, which amounted to me sending a sheet of paper to the probation officer with my address on it (I was three hours away at school).
All three of us were under this clause:

Section 7411 of the Public Health code provides for a plea without conviction for a first offense on drug charges. If the defendant is accepted under 7411 and completes a period of probation the case is dismissed at the end of probation without a conviction. The use of 7411 is within the sole discretion of the judge and applies to possession and use cases.
