what's up with these days and a$$hat cops
How the hell do you know the cop is an asshat? Simply based off of what some dumbass says after being pulled over?
Well first of all the cop was pretty rude, so he seems to be giving the ticket out of annoyance or anger. And I suppose I can ASSUME that LOLyourFace is telling the truth.
Right because we all know anyone busted by the law always accurately depicts exactly what happened.
lol, what's it there to lie about to you ATOT people? I want to accurately depict what happened so I can get some input from You guys,
1. I was speeding (i know stupid of me, but it was 5am and I wanted to go home asap
*Admitting you're wrong is a good first step
2. a cop pulls me over
*At 5am no less. You have to consider that the cop is probably just as tired as you are at this point and just a little bit cranky. Granted, it doesn't justify much, but cops are people too.
3. asks for my license and registration
*I'll assume that you were polite and answered, "Yes, officer (sir), may I reach for it?"
4. I hand it to him in a organized fashion
*Excellent. Somtimes that's enough right there to make things go on your favor.
5. He asks me if I had been drinking, while purposely flashing his flashing light into my freaking eyes
*A logical question at 5am for someone speeding and a logical means of detecting the effects of alcohol on someone. Although it's discomforting, shining a flashlight in a drunks eyes will pretty much immediately let you know if they're drunk or not. It's a necessary evil so to speak.
6. He goes away
*Sounds routine, nothing to comment on here.
7. Comes back, and says, "there's no excuse for you for speeding"
*This is very much true, more true than you care to admit probably. At 5am there are many hazards on the road not present during the day (animals, damp road conditions, etc.) that can make it MORE dangerous to speed. In addition to that, speeding doesn't really do much for anyone. Those two or three minutes you probably were going to save wouldn't be worth it if you had hit something or fallen asleep at the wheel.
8. Then I ask, "Can I tell you something sir?"
*Excellent. You may ask this question any time you want, however, if he got you speeding and has hard proof of it, what can you say to him that he hasn't heard a hundred or more times? Especially when you already knew you were wrong.
9. He says, "NO"
*Well within his perview. Matters are to be contested in court, not on the side of a road at 5am as it's not safe. It's not meant to be a "power trip" it's just something the officer doesn't HAVE to deal with under the circumstances. Traffic court is where you can say your piece.
10. "And DO NOT APPEAL this ticket, because I WILL BE THERE"
*This is the only questionable portion of the entire interaction. He didn't have to say this to end the interaction and it ultimately is what left a bad taste in your mouth over the entire incident I think. The rest you probably could have dealt with without being angry/upset about it.
11. Takes off.
