Why are people Yao Ming fans? Because hes the first guy in a long time that can actually challenge Shaq. Next year will be really fun to watch Shaq vs Ming
Few NBA players? Most NBA players haven't got into trouble. And Yao's been around less than half a season. There's still time.
Don't think I have anything against Yao Ming, but I don't like the fact that he's so hyped without doing anything yet. No way he's a better player than Shaq, but he's the starter in the All Star game. Same reason I didn't like Kobe when he first arrived. He'd come off the bench, do a few highlight dunks and little else, and then get voted into the all star game over established vets. Yao will be very good. But can we please wait until he's done something before we crown him?

I have seen a pic of his gf. She is not bad looking at all imo. She plays on the Chinese women's basketball team.

Yao is pumped up. I expected a few blocks and other nice plays early. The fact that Yao can't even play along with normal starters is pitiful. I think he's a great player, but the fact that a lot of you think that he's going to "own" Shaq is not only hilarious, it's ridiculous.
If he's graduated from a Chinese school, he'll own shaq and the entire team at math and science.

Keep in mind that Yao Ming is a rookie. Give him a year or 2 to develop.

Maybe like LikeLinus, but I honestly thought Yao would get in foul trouble. I also thought Shaq would be going for 30 and 15 at least.
