You realize that when you guys use the term 'ownage' and spend a half hour looking up previous posts from people you only prove what a bunch of pathetic douchebags you are. You just took that much time out of your day to dig up posts from this guy, or casio, or whomever. Do you morons actually believe that you can tell how intelligent a person is in real life based on a few words on an internet forum?
And then, almost to prove the point that half of you slack-jawed morons must've been habitually dropped head first onto marble flooring as infants, you assume that anything anyone on this forum does that even remotely approaches normal day to day living MUST be lies. It's like you all project your sad pathetic existences onto the people on this forum that actually do shit with their lives. "Wait, he got a job at Google, and he posts on this forum? I post on this forum too and haven't done shit with my life, and if he's doing something with his, then I have to face, even minutely, the fact that I'm a complete idiot. Better knock him down a peg and assume he's lying so I can save my own ego."
80% of you need to grow the fsck up.
OP: Congratulations on getting a job.
There are several glaring errors with your rebuttal:
1. You accuse anyone who states that pcslookout was "owned" as spending half an hour looking up old posts. While it is true that yoyo probably put in more time to this endeavor than most would deem necessary, it is nonetheless his time to use. The short "owned" responses that followed appear to have taken far less time to craft than your own reply, suggesting you have more time to waste on this topic than those you are railing against. Hypocrisy.
2. You explicitly state that you cannot tell what someone is actually like from posts on an internet forum, then appear to only apply this rule to pcslookout. All responses from yoyo and others could be extensions of this rule, thoughts, not of the humans at the computer, but of their online personas. To come on to an online forum with your own online persona and rally against this is at best ironic, and at worst, mind-numbingly stupid.
3. You take the OP at face value. You claim that anyone who makes a post indicating they have a life outside of this little world of ATOT must be telling the absolute truth and anyone who questions that truth must be overcome with jealousy (or jealousness, take your pick). But what if the OP is lying? His own online persona has posted a number of topics and replies that would make many question his intelligence, not just in the realm of computers, where he supposedly is now employed at one of the most powerful companies in the world, but in basic common sense areas as well. Nothing the OP has ever posted seems to indicate that he is a brilliant software engineer; why should any of us take what he claims at face value? If anything, this thread seems to show that he deliberately registered a second account to back himself up, something clearly against Anandtech's forum rules.
Your response to this thread seems over-the-top in defending someone who, for all intents and purposes, seems to be lying to everyone, whether by passing himself off as an idiot on the forums or as a software engineer in real life. But don't yell at people for trying to do their own investigative journalism. What they do with your own time really isn't your concern, is it? If you feel their time was wasted, why waste your own commenting? Or is that just your online persona?
Thanks yoyo, truly a classic bit of ownage, there.
