Its your first car, so get something like an Accord EX Coupe. It will be very reliable, and its got enough power to be more than adequate.

That car is a very good choice IMO

I agree that that would be a good choice, but I still much prefer the Mazda6. The Accord Coupe just doesn't have the styling that a Mazda6 5-door has. Plus, Mazda is offering a nice cash-back incentive on the 6 right now.

Of course, a lot here will praise the reliability of the Accord, and they are definately correct and justified in that aspect. But do you really want to drive an Accord when you find SO many on the streets as it is? There are plenty of others on the market that will have great reliabilty as well. And to add to that, that generation of their coupes just doesn't look that appealing.

i concur mazda 6 is pure sex @ 22K :)

Most definately sexy... in fact, I'm probably going to get a 04 Mazda 6s 5-door, black onyx next week :D

same here except not next week

i am currently trying to work out some financing and pay off some loans first

i am looking at black or lapis blue

a 6s 5 speed w/
sport package
luxury
side airbags
bose pckage and moonroof :)

i found 2 in my area but i hope they arent gone by the time i buy (about 6 weeks probably)

because i dont want to pay 3K more for an 05 that is virtually the same

Ok, price range...hmm. This is going to be my first car, so I'm not looking for a benz. BELOW 30!

This

Do they sell an automatic version? He doesn't and won't drive a manual unless someone here can talk him into it and his parents, I've tried telling him but he just doesn't buy it
For his parents...Well, when you have an automatic transmission, you have to worry about the motor and the transmission...When you have a manual transmission, you basically only have to worry about the motor.

2 things vs. 1. Which one do you think will be more dependable? :)

As for him, tell him a manual transmission will give him more control and in general give him a better feel for what the car's doing. Also, tell him that only pre-pubescent girls think auto-trannies are cool ;)

You know, if he's willing to go for a manual transmission, I'll talk to his parents about it and I'll teach him to drive it too.

I'd like to agree on the dependability part for the transmission because of the clutch, but I can't really say if I do agree because it largely depends what kind of driver they are. If he agrees to a manual he can get a nice VW, maybe an R32 or just the GTi VR6. As for more control and feel for what he's doing, I full agree. When I drive a manual I pay more attention to driving than I do in an automatic just because I control more of what's going on. If he's willing to learn a manual and his parents agree I'll help them do the car shopping research and teach him the manual

And he would be RAPED in insurance. I'm 23, completely clean driving record, and received 3 different quotes of about $1100/6 months on a 01' IS300 that I was considering before the Mazda entered the picture.
