Bering Sea Gold is x10 better. One group pulled in 95 ounces in just two outings. It was $150,000 for two days work. They do so well as they have a frickin escavator on the back of their dredge, whereas everyone else is vacuuming the bottom.

Ya this crew of failure is coming back to try and strike it rich in the glory hole. Anther train wreck but some how I think they will fine enough gold to make a profit. As long as the old guy does not do any dumb shit like he did last year they might have chance. It seemed like at the end of the last season they were finding gold but ran out of time.

Is this new season the *diving for GOLD* in the Bering Sea? Last season I saw was two crews working dirt and a lone grandson working grandpa's claim in Alaska.

Bering Sea Gold is the danger of Deadliest Catch coupled with Gold Rush. The one thing to remember is that the crews on that show have experience and a more proven process. The Gold Rush guys are just in their second season mostly and new to the sites. If they could get a little more consistent, it would be possible for them to turn a good profit with each clean out.

they lost me

When I was in Las Vegas in January, saw the Hoffmans checking in to their hotel. They're not exactly living poor. I don't know how much they're making from these episodes, but they sure have a source of income that is not the gold they mined.

Glad they managed to pull some gold out this season.

I was just a little perplexed about Todd's promise at the end that he'd pull out 1,000 ounces next season. Wtf? They already dug up most of their claim, they have some of Cut 3 left but then what?

1,000 ounces?? lol yea ok they can barely get 90 ounces in one season. maybe they are buying a barge/dredge and going to Nome to mine the bearing sea floor.

in two seasons they have spent roughly 400K. how they managed to get that much scratch is beyond me when they are "down on their luck" anyway if they spent that 400K on a decent barge and equipment they would be pulling in 70+ ounces per clean out easily.

so what are your thoughts, will toad fail in Guyana? what about parker in the Klondike or Fred Hurt still chasing the gold at porcupine?

Most likely they will all find gold, just never know how much of course. The thing that is really starting to get on my nerves is them creating possible scary things are going to happen, then they never do. The commentary is so much this COULD happen, over and over using that word, yet once again nothing really bad does happen.

i like jungle gold.

Those Jungle Gold guys seem like complete morons to me. They are admittedly trying to operate in an environment most people (including me) would find scary and difficult, but nothing I've ever seen suggests they have any idea what they're doing. On the plus side, they clearly won't be going back to Ghana anytime soon.

I hate this show so much and I've never even watched it. Every time they find a hint of gold I spend the next few days fielding calls from bozos who want to open a gold mine.

Them: I want to open a gold mine!
Me: Have you found gold?
Them: That's your job.
Me: Do you have the $10 million needed for start up?
Them: <pause> Let's start with exploration, I've got a good idea where the gold is. While we're finding the gold, I'll round up investors. $10 million should be easy street.
Me: Okay, let's take a look at your claims.
Them: Ah, my wife doesn't want me to spend money on claim fees but the rocks over at XXX look promising.
Me: That area is covered by 10,000 feet of sandstone. There is no gold there.
Them: I saw an exploration rig out there once.
Me: Did they open a mine?
Them: Ah, no.
Me: That's because they were laying fiber optic cable not looking for gold.
Them: So the area is ripe for picking!
Me: Good luck and goodbye.

Seriously. Folks watch the show and think they can raise $10 million on the most speculative venture no problem but can't raise a few bucks to even get started and have no clue what they are doing but it doesn't stop them from calling me.

Umm that's not how it works in the show. Why would you post all of that with the preface of "I've never watched the show:?

It doesn't matter how they do it on the show. The result of the show is that bozos watch the show and decide they can open their own gold mine and be rich by Christmas. The fact that they don't have clue about modern mining doesn't slow them down a bit. Which is all good except that they call me.
