They builded a city around this and called it Kimberley. The city got about 7 traffic robots and a 1940 train motoring through it every day.

Cool hole

another episode of the hoffmans buying what looks to me like scrap metal for several thousand dollars and playing around with their tonka trucks.

"all of a sudden the loader conks out...can't run dirt. David Turin is first on the scene."

Lol discovery a piece of equipment is having an issue, it isn't like the last nuke in our arsenal failed to alter the course of the planet killing asteroid.

Its getting harder and harder to believe that this could be real. What type of moron would continue to listen to Todd and his no knowing anything leadership. I love how they keep saying that is the "American Dream". Um, Im American and have never cared to mine for gold and lose all my money doing it.

what i don't understand is before the loader broke they had been running dirt for 6 hours? so instead of doing a clean out while the loader is repaired they all sit around with their thumbs up their ass for 8 hours. THEN after the loader is repaired they run for 1 hour and get 4 oz of gold and claim victory.....

Maybe you should contact TMZ about this, right up their alley. You haven't "pieced together" anything really, unless you can show it's the same dude on the show, Hoffman is a pretty common name..

Here's what I get with that address. Check out the names. 😛

BACKGROUND: Gold Miner, Bush pilot, Ex-Military
HOMETOWN: Sandy, OR

Still watching. I have to question with harness' frigged up back why can he not sit of chair and ask others to do the work? He could tell them specifically what to do. Instead he is here by himself bent over screwing his back over more times than not.

I had the same problem with my back. Got it fixed about 1.5 years ago. I would do that a lot too. I wasnt going to put myself in a bunch of pain when someone else could do it just fine. Plenty of times while doing stuff around the house I would kind of supervise, since we all know they just stand there anyways:awe:, and things would get done.

I just have a harder and harder time watching Fred, the guy is a dick to everyone and puts words in their mouths all the time.

Fred seems to clueless on the regulations and keeps getting shut down. Last preview he was bitching about being shut down because of a paperwork he did not have.

The Hoffmens are dumb asses they always seem to have more problems with equipment and never have it running correctly. Part of it is that they never had any real experience mining gold but they also just a bunch of retards that were give the chance to mine for gold. What they need to do hire a real miner that knows how to do it like the guy they brought in to inspect everything. Found out they were not running enough water through the wash and you wonder how much gold they lost just from that. Then they clogged up the pump from the water hole. Who thought that was going to work when they were dumping all that silt back into it.

Parker and his grandfathers mine seems to not have enough gold so who know what going to happen with it.

yes as my wife can testify i have asked the TV that very same question several times.

Anyone know how much these guys are getting paid per show? Ive only found that the Jimmy guy that left said he was promised 1,000.00 per show.

I heard it was $100,000 per episode, at least during the second season. I don't know if that is per person, per site or what.

They show someone leaving for the preview for Fridays episode. The dude has go to be bat sh!t crazy insane to leave the show with a $100k payout per episode.

Even if it were per person.
100,000.00/7= $14,285.00 per person x 12 $171,428 per season plus any gold you find.

That's not true. If Deadliest Catch gets paid, these guys are getting paid. Nobody would do this for free. If they aren't paid directly, then Discovery is paying for all the equipment, land and gear.

This.

If they are not getting paid a dime, then they are the idiots they seem to be on the show.

Ah there we go. Now I'm always one to question things, but they all seemed sincere on the last couple of "behind the scenes" eps about how they aren't paid anything. I wondered how they were able to afford a consultant AND an onsite run of the new bitchin' gold jig (that fancy sand/gold separator deal) that was mostly unexplained. I also had assumed some of the equipment or the lease itself was paid for by DSC.

I'm sure DSC also covers the cost of all their travel. All those weird trips to town when one of the guys runs away or when Jack went back to ND to check on his house.

Even if they are getting paid to do the show, I'm glad they are doing something to make the money and not sitting in some park for months on end bitching about how they are owed something by the man. Yes, they make a ton of mistakes and have no clue about mining, but the did give up a site, didn't get a permit for their second location and had to get the third running from scratch.

The Bering Sea Gold starts Friday. Those guys look like they know what they are doing. Probably because no one can afford to buy a dredging barge just to get started.

That still doesn't quite make sense, the storyline this season was that Jack didn't make one of the payments for their first mine and that is how Fred got it. However that could have all easily been set up.

Is there any final word on how much if any they get paid? I would like to know one way or the other.

Not sure I want to watch berring sea gold. Seems really desperate combining Alaska with good, like discovery is doubling down on their two biggest money makers.

I'm guessing that they are not actually getting paid, and they just get all of the equipment and living expenses paid for. So that anything they get in the mine is profit.
