Oh believers definitely do not dismiss the realities of non believers. We do try to enlighten when asked or correct a mistaken belief attributed to those who believe. Sadly, at least in these forums, there are many who seem to go out of their way to attack believers while dismissing the importance of those beliefs, if only to them.

Speak for yourself. I have many memories of growing up as a believer and being surrounded by them; believers are no different than anyone else. They're quick to dismiss what doesn't agree with them, and they're dickish.

I remember in particular one junior high lesson on other major religions, after half an hour it degenerated into "herpaderp can you believe what Muslims/Mormons/Buddhists believe." I pointed out to the leader that nobody will ever be converted by mockery, and we quickly got back on track and closed.

More to your original comment, I'm quick to dismiss believers' experiences in large part because they're contradictory. You're certain you've had experiences with Abraham's god, but I could easily find someone else just as certain they've experienced a Hindu god, and those worldviews are mutually exclusive. When there is no direct evidence and even the circumstantial evidence is contradictory claiming certainty is disingenuous and downright foolish.
