I haven't gotten to that room, but I just beat my 2nd one and after there was some dialog about that room you are talking about, how you go there with the heads after or something.

I've only ran into two of them and I have defeated them both. I just got the blades like 2 hours or so ago too as far as the story goes so you know how far along I am. Both of them were not easy to defeat and probably took me 10 or so tries before I finally beat em.
I wish I was where you are in the game. I'm done the game and wish I wasn't. I wanted more of the story and adventure. I guess I'll go beat far cry 5 and then start a new game.

I just looked into it and apparently the director or whoever it was made the statement as "no plans for DLC because we put all our ideas into the game and didn't greedily hold anything back"

I'm sure they are already planning on what to put in those locked realms

I have a feeling he's not telling the whole truth. The locked realms just scream DLC. It's either that or the game was released unfinished. I can't think of another explanation. You don't have to hold back content for DLC, that's the lame excuse everyone against DLC uses. You can add things to the base game after you are done with it, you don't have to pull out parts of it to release later.

True I bet we will see something in 6 months mentioned about this game. I'd like to have an extra piece to the story. I mean those all can't be grinding realms because if nothing else was there to progress towards and get better equipment for then that would be pointless.

Exactly, those realms, the "vision" if you went back home and slept after beating the game, this game is screaming for more story content and honestly I hope they do it. I would gladly pay for more story content for this game.

More content would be really nice, but I feel that the locked realms and anything left open in the story point more toward a sequel than DLC. If we explore all the 9 realms right now, that would be a pretty big game, and there wouldn't be as much left for a sequel or sequels. I know they hinted at other pantheons, but I don't want to jump away from the Norse setting too quickly. The game is already longer than any previous GoW game. Based on interviews with Cory Barlog, he's told the story he wanted to tell for this game. Additional encounters added in DLC wouldn't fit into that. A traditional expansion might be appropriate but that isn't really a thing anymore.

Muspelheim can be reached fairly early on, and Niflheim not too close to the end. You don't have to grind them at the end with no purpose after completing everything else, even though most people save them for the end and they are much easier at that point. If you do save them for the end, they aren't too different from the challenges in previous games, which required you to complete the game once to unlock and didn't offer any rewards.

Just finished the story mode. This game is such a REDACTED masterpiece. Even the way the credits roll is so REDACTED well done. The whole ending sequence was just awesome and done so well. REDACTED I wish I wasn't done with the story mode I just want to keep playing it more. I will probably play to do all side quests and Valkyries and what not. The only thing I don't really have interest in is finding all those birds because I'm sure I would need to follow some dumb guide to get them all.

Yea I wish the game didn't end. I really enjoyed the game but the only stuff I have left to do is the grind stuff which I have no interest in. The game has great back and forth banter between the characters. It's why it's one of those few games that I wish actually had DLC so we could get more of the game sooner.

“Ahh well I’ll save this story for another time then.” Was pretty funny at times when Mimir was telling a story in the boat and you landed at a dock and interrupted it.

I absolutely loved when Kratos tries to tell a story. “There once was a man who died.” “That’s it?” “Yes” lol also when he talks to the dwarfs. “Was it tough to get your hands on?” “Yes” “Was it guarded?” “Yes” “is that all you’re going to say to me?” “Yes”

Yea it sucks that it's over. I wish it wasn't either. I don't even have the drive to push through far cry 5 but I don't really have anything else to play. I guess I could go back to Horizon but it's not the same of course.

The character banter sorta stops post game. Just grinding and no one's barely talking anymore. Feels a bit lonely now.

I guess I'm in the minority - I couldn't stand the dialog when Atreus kept talking to the head while in the boat, and then every time you dock he says "We'll save this story for another time." I actually looked to see if there was an option to turn it off but nope lol. It was too much for me when exploring and constantly getting in/out of the boat. The heads accent got really annoying to me after a while and how he kept talking while in the boat.

I would occasionally blindly paddle around the lake picking up hacksilver and aegirs gold because I wanted to hear the stories. Listen to a couple then head back to what I was doing before. I would usually do it after interrupting the same story a handful times. I wished he would finish stories close to the end on land, but I understand why they chose to only have it in the boat.

Only time I ever had trouble hearing Mimir was on the trip back from Jotunheim. He didn't jump into his big post-Jotunheim dialogue until I had activated realm travel, and it was hard to hear him over the temple. Did anybody else run in to that?

I always waited for the story to finish.

Intentionally skipped around this thread because I have not even made it past the lakes yet. This game is crack! I cannot stop playing, and will be going back to it as soon as I am done with breakfast and coffee. My only complaint is me. I am still getting back the feel for the PS controller after not having held one in years. The stick position has always made me feel like I am pinching the controller instead of griping it. The result is that I am fumbling some combos.

On combos: Good to see the combat system is still deep and immensely satisfying in the GoW series. Makes it highly replayable, in order to unlock and master all the moves. This is easily my game of the year right now. Red dead will be great, but the art direction, story, and graphics are unlikely to match what this game brings.

I agree. FC5 feels like a chore. Warhammer vermintide 1/2 are great if you have a PC

I realized Friday night that even though I had completed the game, there was a realm I had never even been to, and I opened up Nilfheim this past weekend. I spent like 4-5 hours in there yesterday just grinding away and beat all 3 realm tears. The two 7500 chests I didn't open though I am guessing they are just stuff I won't use at this point.

I'm now rocking full armor from Nilfheim upgraded one level and damn it looks slick, with the green myst stuff moving around on it. I also finished all Valkyries and tried to face the Queen one time and got completely obliterated. I need to go back with the berserker stone and a full rage meter before I think about facing here again.

Finished all I wanted to do in Helheim and finally went back to Niflheim last night. It was much easier than the first time I messed around there. I have a rough sense of the layout which helps, and was able to work my way through and have a full set of mist resistance armor + pommel + talisman. Also opened the chest that leads to the final leviathan axe upgrade. Beat the valkyrie. I'll see how long it takes me to start closing the realm tears but that's pretty much all I have left, plus valkyrie queen
Oh snap so one of those 7500 chests has the damn frozen flame to upgrade the axe? Aaah now I'm going to have to go back there and get it...

I've spent many hours getting this stuff to open all tears and chest. Released all valkyrie and am trying to battle the queen. Keep getting my ass served to me.

Getting 15,000 to open the last 2 chests I have locked shouldn't take more than like 15-20 minutes. I typically got like 10k-11k on runs through Ivaldi's workshop towards the end, and it's super easy with having all 4 runic attacks ready each time I enter a new room.
