My Canadian Springs bottles ran out so I went to the gas station to grab some water until they deliver two more big bottle stommorow, and they were out of Dasani. So I picked up evian, what the hell do they put in this crap? I've tasted better tap water.

Bottled water is a scam. Tap water is perfectly healthy. And in most areas, it tastes fine.

I only drink bottled water when I'm at a gas station, I want a drink to take with me, and I don't want soda (caffeine BAD!). That said, Evian is my drink of choice, with the (I believe) now defunct Naya as a close #2. If I had to pick a #3, it would be Ice Mountain.

Dasani and Aquafina taste horrible. I would rather drink just about anything than Aquafina. It tastes like St. Louis' city water.

Doesn't dasani add in a carcinogenic chemical in order to enhance the "taste" to make it a bit sweeter?

Since bottled water IS tap water, I think that goes without saying.

If the label says spring water, then it is NOT tap water (by law it must come from protected springs). If the label says drinking water or purified water, it's reprocessed tap/city water.

Paying for bottled watter is something I will never understand. I've tried bottled watter before but it tastes nasty compared to my tap water.

And what is the huge difference? Spring water is the very same water as tap water, only it's been underground more recently.

Every single drop of water on this planet has been pissed out by countless animals countless times and refiltered over and over again.

Most local tap waters in the US are CLEANER than spring water. ALL local tap waters in the US are perfectly healthy And in blind taste tests, no one can tell the difference in most locations.

Only in a few locations does the local tap water taste bad because of sulfur content. (Hilton Head Island comes to mind) But in every other place I've lived from the west, to the south, to the midwest, the tap water has been perfectly fine.

The biggest problem with local tap water is that once it hits your pipes all bets are off for taste.

When I first moved into my current apartment it had been sitting empty for a year. The tap water was absolutely vile. After 3 months it's somewhat tolerable, but still not particularly good.

If you want good tsating cheap drinking water distilled water is wonderful. I still refuse to drink my tapwater, it's distilled water at home & the water cooler at work (Crystal Springs).

I drink springs water from walmart. $1.98 for 2.5 gallon dispenser which can last me 7-10 days. Tap water may be healthy in most places, but no doubt bottle water is purer and garantteed to taste good, while tap water is hit or miss.

It is a myth that bottled water is "purer."

If it's sterilized after being sealed/bottled, how could it not be? At least when it comes to the living variety of unpure.

Bottle water go thru more and stricter purification process. There are standards regarding the purity of water set by government. And the standard is stricter for bottled water than for tap water.

I m ostly agree but bottle wate doesn't have to be expensive though.

I get a big 2litre x 6 pack at Sainsbury and it isn't expensive. Caledonian Mineral water. Taste very nice. Not in to drinking other stuff and it is also cheap to boot :D. My house tap water is also very good to drink. Taste great but when you stick it in a bottle and let it set for a few days or if you leave it out it taste 'different'. But with the mineral water it taste the same when I leave it out.

But at some of my friends place drinking their tap water is NOT AN OPTION. It taste kind of soapy and just 'bad'. I like drinking my tap water as it taste fine.

You won't find me paying a lot to drink water!
