You just CAN'T be serious? Are you??
Audi A4? From which year? It's not better than a 2005 Audi A4 let alone the 2010 Audi A4!
Have you ever been inside an Audi A4? Not even close.
Hell the interior is NOT even "on par" with the 2009 Honda Accord if you want to hear the truth.
Also, slushboxes will continue to be in big demand, all the women drivers too lazy to learn how to drive properly, all the morons continually bitching about how they need an automatic, all that will go on, but Ford at least provides the option, which is better than say GM or Chrysler.
Well, I have always chosen and purchased manual cars over automatic, it's a much better drive. But what makes you think those who drive Automatic become "Automatically" morons?
You realize the need for automatic cars outwighs the need for manual and you call people morons for it? I like to drive Manual as much as the next guy, but plenty of manual fans have to face the reality of their commute and buy automatic....if not sequential.
Hell, I bet you will find tons of those members right here in this forum too.
Also, Ford has improved a lot more than GM or Chrysler, so that might sell right there.
Yet they still get the better fords in Europe.
I will start respecting Ford when they start making cars that would actually win over non-die hard American buyers.
How about making some good stuff. Like I don't know.... Make that Fusion, with a decent interior, something that could at least surpass a freaking Accord, add a a RWD / AWD platform, an Automatic-Sequential / Manual option with I4 and a V6 (V6 option available for both auto and manual)? I6 option instead of V6 would be Fantastic!
But I doubt Ford has the balls or brains to pull such moves. They wait till the market tanks on them, and then they think....."Hmmm, what should we add now...that we should have had long time ago to win the customers we lost long time ago?"
Oh that's right, they can't do those things and compete. Ford, GM and Chrysler are barely making it despite all the compromises. But hey, let's add an abomination of a Chrome additive to the entire front to help sell this :disgust:
What's next? Chromed hoods? Standard chrome spinners ??
No they think they can stick to the same ole low-quality-interior-FWD_Always-Automatic_Trans_with anything_above_a_4_cylinder_hideous_cheesy_exterior_touches (i.e Bulging blobs and Chrome fronts ughh!) platform!
Also, people bitching about driving a manual in heavy traffic: I've done it quite a bit. It ain't fun, but if you're conditioned (which apparently 30% of Americans aren't) it isn't all that bad.
Not all that bad?
I remember once, I got stuck on the highway on an occasion..
To get through 2 miles of highway, I almost lost sensation in my left leg and I am not joking. When I got home my leg was so freaking sore... God knows how much wear was put on my clutch that day. But had I done that everyday I am pretty sure my trans/clutch would give in after 20K

The only manufacturers that I can think of that American manufacturers don't compromise more than, are the Chinese LOL
Now, put that six speed manual on the 2011 mustang and we're all set.
Hell even Huyndai is now challenging the sales of cars like the Mustang.
I have never been into buying either Fords nor Hyundais (due to low quality history).
But today, in all seriousness, if I am given the option to choose between Hyundai and Ford.
I would be drifting my way in a Genesis coupe out of the dealreship faster than you can say Anyoung!
Oh and to add to that conclusion. I would take the better interior, styling and options Pontiac G8 (good ole RWD, 6spd Manual + 6 cylinder goodness and no chrome additives) ) over a fusion any day any time
You call that"Ford's finally pulling out the big guns."?
I'll tell you what, back in the mid 90s, I drove a 5-speed manual, RWD I6 300E Mercedes E-class.
Till now, I would still take it's quality inside and out and interior over %90 of what the American market has to offer right now.
