For those who share my twisted sense of humor.
LOL!

Cue Eskimospy to tell me the ship actually agrees that humans are catastrophically warming the Earth (and presumably wants us to speed it up.) 'Cause it ain't funny unless it fits the agenda, apparently.

I know nothing about him other than he made a funny statement. Funny 'cause it's true.

As a conservative, I don't really need to know his position on the issue to appreciate the humor.

Apparently you do! I just thought it was funny that you guys were quoting a guy who accepts the science on global warming as a certainty in order to make jokes about how bad the science on global warming is.

tee hee.

The statement he made is funny regardless of his take on global warming. Not sure why that is so hard for you to understand, but ... o_O

It's not? I thought it was funny too. I just thought the reactions of our good friend monovillage and werepossum were funnier.

You certainly have an interesting way of framing his views on this subject.

"the impact of climate change is relatively small" - Richard Tol

Nope, I framed them perfectly accurately. He believes that human caused climate change is undeniable, he just thinks the impact is less than what other people commonly assess it to be. (that is what his quote right there is saying in fact!)

You'll note that nothing in his arguments is about whether or not climate change is real or not, in that he clearly accepts the overwhelming evidence. His whole argument is simply about its consequences.

<sigh> Mono didn't quote Tol to make a joke, Mono quoted Tol's joke.

Then I guess that makes me a "believer" as well. Glad we finally got that cleared up!

Big surprise that almost everyone that will financially benefit from a tax, approves of the tax.

I wouldn't say he lied per se...he just has a talent for twisting facts in creative ways at times.

What would have been funny is if the ship had sunk with all hands lost. Then I could have laughed at your crime of laughing at people in trouble.

Ignorance abound.
Global warming is not just about ice or where ice was or wasn't before, nor melting ice caps.
Global warming is all about... change.
100 year floods happening every 3 years.
Drought turning fertile lands into deserts.
Stuff like that.
And if you are going to pay any attention, you must think beyond our own boarders.
Major climate change had been taking place outside of north america, but naturally most people of ignorance would never think to look beyond their neighborhood to or not to justify climate change i.e. global warming.
Its all about the change, not the ice.

For example, Im in the midwest and its december, technically december i.e. Winter, and the calla lilies are blooming Rhett, the beautiful calla lilies. And I lied Rhett, I don't know nothin bout birthin babies., nor bout global wormen.

How did you get this from the conversation between DSF and mono?? Your posts are getting further and further out there with each passing day.

Then I could have laughed at your laughing at his laughing at the ship sinking with all hands lost. We could have all of Anandtech laughing at his laughing with you and I laughing at all the death and destruction. Damm Conservative brain

Silence, both of you. That post was for DSF who seems to have slipped under the ice. Neither of you has the slightest idea what the great Moonbeam is doing.

Don't worry, hopefully by then the left will have realized its eugenist dream of reducing the world population by a few billion undesireables and carbon producers.
Wait, only millions of Americans?

How about trillions of Americans!

When cooking up doomsday bullshit, the left needs to go big or go home.

You, at the base level, the people who talk about irony and how one cold winter or one more iceberg somewhere there wasn't before are more or less of the same intellectual breed as those who talk about how life and planets etc. violate the second law of thermodynamics. They have only the faintest idea what science is at play, entirely convinced that a data point disproves a trend, and extremely eager to spread the word about the climate change/evolution hoax. It is sad so many have so little respect for and understanding of science.

The pig was trapped under the ice and drowned while laughing himself to death. But cheer up...I hear you're having bacon for breakfast tomorrow! Enjoy.
