Not so much plotting and scheming...however twisting the world into a progressive paradigm just seems to come natural for them. Kind of like NY Time's recent article on Benghazi involving months of "investigation" which still unbelievably reguritates the false WH talking point that the incident was "fueled in large part by anger at an American-made video denigrating Islam". MSM bias is real.

MSM bias is not real, as we've talked about repeatedly in the past. The facts don't lie.

As for the NYT's investigation, what evidence are you using to rebut their conclusions, where is it sourced from, and what makes you think your source is more reliable?

This is about the closest to what actually happened. Apparently the OP believes that the water just froze around the ship. In reality, very high winds pushed pack ice up against the ship.
Nope...I don't believe that the water just froze around the ship. You're reading way more into this than was intended. I was amused by the irony of a ship full of global warming scientists getting trapped by ice. Nothing more, nothing less. Is this really that fucking hard to understand?

The global warming issue is one of the best places to document the conservative brain defect and the threat to humanity, generally, that defect presents.

If I had a conservative brain defect I might warn you that there are Christian lives aboard that ship that are in danger and that peril to their angelic souls isn't a laughing matter. I would remind you also of the value of the ship and the hard work and scientific items that could wind up at the bottom of the sea. I would also remind you of the jeopardy you put your own soul in laughing at misfortune and disaster, but of course, since I nothing but a callous liberal, I can admit to it being rather funny.

Unless one happens to be stuck in sea ice whilst on a mission from Gaia to prove CAGW at the moment. Probably pretty difficult to concentrate on that conservative brain defect in that situation. In fact, I daresay that these global warming scientists might actually appreciate a brain so defective that it can perceive current reality rather than what we all know is happening, so as to avoid embarrassing situations such as getting trapped in sea ice while demonstrating that global warming has melted all the sea ice.

Perhaps we need a new thread for this if you wish to discuss further.

If you would like to make a thread feel free, but let's just say that vague, unsourced declarations by politically motivated actors is not very compelling evidence to me.

It also seems odd to attempt to substantiate accusations of partisan media bias by quoting a partisan that doesn't like the media's reporting.

I personally found this to be humorous as it reminds me of The Far Side...if this is your idea of a conservative brain defect, then perhaps a good, long look in the mirror may be in order.

You realize, I hope, that if the data on Benghazi or global warming contradicts your ingrained conservative views and would cause you emotional discomfort, you will not be able to see that truth even if you think you want to. You don't have free will if you harbor unconscious assumptions tied to traumatic emotional events. It will be just as if you were possessed by demons, in fact, identically the same.

I find it humorous and I said so. Who am I to deny that I have a conservative brain defect. How do you suppose I manage to drive so many of the frothing nut cases that post here crazy. I know them better than they do. In fact, I see what I see because I learned that the funniest thing on this planet is myself, the ultimate absurdity. I just happened to have been lucky and died very young. All my precious deeply held, deeply worshiped conservative unconscious assumptions went down in a shipwreck. I alone survived and couldn't carry away my thousand pounds of cabbage I so cherished. I made it out only with what I had that couldn't be taken and I have been laughing my ass off ever since. And like any good conservative with a brain defect, I know the truth the instant I see it with the difference that because my truthiness is unencumbered by unconscious assumptions, I see the truth that's real. MSM Glosses Over Irony of Global Warming Scientists Trapped in Antarctic Ice

Somewhere far, far to the south where it is summer, a group of global warming scientists are trapped in the Antarctic ice. If you missed the irony of that situation, it is because much of the mainstream media has glossed over that rather inconvenient bit of hilarity. As an example here is an Associated Press story that avoids mentioning the real mission of the scientists aboard the icebound Russian ship:

..................................

Ah, so now we see why the MSM reluctance to flat out state why the scientists are in the Antarctic. Anything to avoid an inconvenient (but accurate) headline like this:

GLOBAL WARMING SCIENTISTS TRAPPED IN ANTARCTIC ICE

Unfortunately they don't have a conservative brain defect. Otherwise they could simply create an altered reality tropical bubble around the ship and go swimming.

Who is going to be the first to scream with laughter when millions of Americans start to die of drought, starvation, and heat stroke, the Koch Brothers? I mean, it is going to be hilarious.

If you wish to prevent those then you will allow NO MORE persons to immigrate to this country. You will cap the population, using all available means of force to ensure that we do not go past a maximum number.

Those things you fear are an absolute guaranteed outcome of an ever increasing population.

Why do you assume that these are the results of a warming earth? Number 1, melted pole ice introduces more water into the water cycle. Number 2, aren't there numerous studies that the warmer, more humid climate will increase 'bread basket' areas and agricultural zones? Finally, number 3, you realize there are places on earth much hotter than America where millions aren't dying of heat stroke? 1 degree per century means much less to heat stroke than 1 big mac per meal does.

I confess....I'll likely be the first to scream with laughter if these 74 human beings die because that's the kind of guy I really am deep down and am just too mentally defective to realize it. Your profound insight into the conservative psyche is absolutely uncanny!

Don't worry, hopefully by then the left will have realized its eugenist dream of reducing the world population by a few billion undesireables and carbon producers.

You only scratch the surface. I would have life on earth go extinct before I face the pain I hide from myself and you are the same. You enjoy the perks of your saintly altered reality. You are much happier than I am. All the evil that exists in the universe was created and is maintained every second of time by me. My dear friend, the world is dying because of me.

Most people see a very real difference between someone being inconvenienced due to their own silly views and that person dying due to their own silly views. Honestly, we do. It's like how we can laugh at someone slipping on ice and yet still be horrified if they fall into molten lava - or break a limb, twist an ankle, etc.

LOL! Luckily those too prove CAGW.

lol.

You realize that the guy he quoted accepts the science that humans are responsible for warming the planet, right?

To quote him:
Although there are still people who argue that there are other processes in the atmosphere that will cancel out the enhanced greenhouse effect, the science is well-established and future global warming is beyond reasonable doubt

His only argument is that he thinks that estimates of the costs of climate change are too high and that we should keep mitigation efforts in line with that cost.

tee-hee.

EDIT: He's also in favor of a carbon tax. WHAT A COMMIE.

I know nothing about him other than he made a funny statement. Funny 'cause it's true.

As a conservative, I don't really need to know his position on the issue to appreciate the humor.
