You, at the base level, the people who talk about irony and how one cold winter or one more iceberg somewhere there wasn't before are more or less of the same intellectual breed as those who talk about how life and planets etc. violate the second law of thermodynamics. They have only the faintest idea what science is at play, entirely convinced that a data point disproves a trend, and extremely eager to spread the word about the climate change/evolution hoax. It is sad so many have so little respect for and understanding of science.
I worship science...sorry that the irony I found here disturbs you so much.

That is rather amusing.

How many more times does this kind of thing need to happen before they finally admit that the alarming warming rates as predicted by their computer models aren't that accurate to reality?

Also, doesn't surprise me how some call every single thing that happens "proof" of global warming, no matter how warm or cold the particular story is. We could have another ice age and they'd claim it is caused by global warming and man-made CO2

Also, your link itself is from a Reuters article, which is about as 'mainstream media' as you can possibly get. I'm certain that you know that global warming will lead to increased ice in certain areas even as global temperatures as a whole increase.

The myth of media bias really is a hard beast to slay when people are so committed to believing something. It's like a religion.

three links. none have the word warm in the linked articles. LMSM bias found in your denial.

I thought this was kind of amusing. Apparently there are a bunch of global warming scientists on a research ship trapped in the ice the last several days. They were there to retrace Douglas Mawson's exhibition of a hundred years ago to "discover and communicate the environmental changes taking place in the south".

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/...-ship-trapped-in-antarctic-ice_n_4517400.html

Unfortunately for them, the area they're stuck in now was ice free 100 years ago. Ah the irony of it all! What's also interesting is that MSM hasn't been reporting this amusing but "inconvenient" truth. Media bias?

High winds pushing floating pack ice into that ice free area has what to do with your amusement over an "inconvenient truth?"

Ignorance abound.
Global warming is not just about ice or where ice was or wasn't before, nor melting ice caps.
Global warming is all about... change.
100 year floods happening every 3 years.
Drought turning fertile lands into deserts.
Stuff like that.
And if you are going to pay any attention, you must think beyond our own boarders.
Major climate change had been taking place outside of north america, but naturally most people of ignorance would never think to look beyond their neighborhood to or not to justify climate change i.e. global warming.
Its all about the change, not the ice.

For example, Im in the midwest and its december, technically december i.e. Winter, and the calla lilies are blooming Rhett, the beautiful calla lilies. And I lied Rhett, I don't know nothin bout birthin babies., nor bout global wormen.

See every warm event proves global warming is real.

Every cold event also proves global warming is real.

Its heads I win, tails you lose.

The increasing average temperature proves Global Warming. Local highs and lows mean nothing, they are weather and the other is climate.

The explain why the media and climate change fear mongers use any heat wave, dry spell, hurricane as proof of global warming?

I feel bad for the scientists following their global warming 'Jim Jones' to nirvana, instead forced to face impending peril.

I'm more disturbed that this is what you consider worshiping science. Now, maybe I'm wrong about you, maybe you do accept that climate change exists and that human activity plays a part in driving it, but when you closed out your OP with what at least appeared to be serious questions about why the media wasn't covering this, it sure looked like you were on the same boat with all the people who legitimately believe that because it is cold outside where I am right now it is a strike against climate change. That you pointed to a single anecdotal bit, one boat stuck in one bit of ice, as something the media ought to be paying attention to but isn't because of some bias against... something, well, like I said, it makes you look like the people I was talking about.

Also, like I said, I could have read you wrong. Tone and inflection don't translate on the internet and I fully accept you may have intended that part humorlessly as well, but to me at least, it didn't read like it.

I almost wouldn’t mind anthropogenic global warming theories used to scare people into becoming planet conscious. Instead current climate change ‘science’ is used to inflate yet another bubble to extort money.

Anyway, it’s a case of way too small a sample size -- like attempting to determine an outcome of a nine-inning baseball game based on a single pitch.

God you fuckers really know how to coddle yourselves in your delusions. All you have to do is turn an imbecile loose in a bunch of books and in ten minutes he can explain every one of them, but of course, only to himself.

So much hate and anger to end the year eh. Guess you couldn't resist a patented profanity laced Moonbeam psychobabble a thon.

Wait, only millions of Americans?

How about trillions of Americans!

When cooking up doomsday bullshit, the left needs to go big or go home.

No need to kill Trillions of Americans... Unless there's some need to wipe out the country at least three times. Maybe Nuke the whole site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

Irony of global warming lost on ice-trapped scientists

HOW many global warming scientists does it take to get stuck in Antarctic ice?

When I posed a question like this on Twitter the inmates went wild - led by Dr Craig Emerson. He missed the irony of an expedition trapped by record ice while trying to prove the east Antarctic ice sheet is melting.

And now, they need ice breakers from multiple countries to save themselves.

But they want me to believe that if they raise my taxes high enough, they can save the planet?

LOL

This is not what I consider worshiping science...this is what I consider to be ironic and humorous. Tell me how many times do I have to say this within this thread before you get it? You and Whampon have assumed you know my beliefs regarding AGW based on zero evidence....and it makes you both look like a couple of mindless reactionaries in my opinion. Perhaps you shouldn't be so "disturbed" by me and my sense of humor...perhaps you should be more disturbed as to why you would make such huge assumptions about another human being's beliefs based solely on what you falsely imagine to be true. Just a thought.

Silence, both of you. That post was for DSF who seems to have slipped under the ice. Neither of you has the slightest idea what the great Moonbeam is doing.

Actually I do. I had to go on a long journey to get there. A journey filled with uppers and downers pain killers wacky tobacce and all manner of illegal substances. I persevered, read your posts and it all became very clear that was last night. Today it is all a blur and I do not have the slightest idea what the great Moonbeam is doing. I do support your right to do it though.

Back to the topic I loved seeing the boat stuck in the ice irony at it's best.

That doesn't read like a joke, it reads like everyone on here who is a climate science denier. I'm fully willing to concede I misread you if this is just a case of Poe's Law but that bit didn't read like humor to me.

All I know is that Satin will have the last laugh when all you global warming deniers roast in hell for laughing at folk in distress trapped far from succor in ice of Antarctica. The callowness is just amazing.

Bull Shit! Your magnificent delusional capacity didn't come from all manner of illegal substances. It came from a brain defect.
