I sometimes play Lego Starwars II: Original Trilogy coop with my girlfriend. She loves the sounds of the lego bricks building and the coins. And she gets angry when I collect more than her.

I told her about the awesome physics in Crysis one day and me messing with chickens and she was: I would love to have a game where you could build a farm for the chicken and give it food and watch out for it. Why aren't there games like this?

Try Harvest Moon series. Basically a mix of Animal Crossing but on a farm and fall in love.

My girlfriend plays a decent amount of videogames. Some of them are sort of female gamer standards, such as the Sims and Harvest Moon. She's also a complete nintenfag who plays almost all Mario/Zelda games. Unfortunately she hates Samus :(. Also, the loves to play a match of SSBM.

I have tried to get her more into computer gaming, but for some reason she loathes games in first person perspective, which eliminates half of the good PC games!

This is how much my wife and I play Guild Wars. :D

Why the heck so many copies of Nightfall?

Oh, and no Eye of the North or did you buy it through the GW store to get the 5 free missions?

We found the Nightfall CE edition for $20, so we bought 4 or 5 copies. And it's an older pic--we have Eye of the North on two of the four accounts so far, more to come soon.

My wife even has the Razor Guild Wars mouse...

lmao don't feel bad I ordered the Razer GW mouse last night from Tigerdirect for $50. I wasn't happy with my G7 dropping out a lot and well I am a big GW fan even though I don't put a lot of time into it. Just have a few high teens and a lvl 20 Dervish in full Primeval.

Didn't happen to get the NF CE's at circuit city ?

We got them at Wal-Mart, of all places. At $20 each, we couldn't pass it up.

I noticed those things too. Lots of girls I knew loved the NES and SNES, but when N64 came around they didnt like the controller (especially the analog stick) they werent keen on the 3D and it seemed like gaming dropped off with the females.
I know a few gals who have Wii's and like the bowling games and such.

I have also noticed there are pleny of women in Guild Wars (not just avatars but actual females playing on the other end).
I think it might be because there is no monthly fee so they dont feel obligated. It may also be that the graphics are excellent and the female characters look really nice.

I hate analogue sticks as well, what happened to the d-pad! Why the hell cant i use that to move around instead! I liked it much better :frown:

Im not a girl btw.

I don't know either. It's so mind-numbingly "realistic" down to needing to take a piss that it's tedious and BORING.

Did I mention it's BORING?

Boring...

Meh, I find myself playing more SCBW/WC III/TF2/CS Source than anything else simply because I can jump in, play a game/map/etc. and then just quit. The challenge of playing humans is also a big plus.

Exactly!! One of the reasons I cannot stand the Sims. Its too much like real life. Why the hell do I want that in a game? Makes no sense to me at all. I found it boring too. Even boring to watch as well. *yawn*

Could be, and for some, that can be appealing. That is one aspect of the game, that looks interesting, but, not something I want to spend a lot of time doing, over, and over, and over, and over......and.........:p

Yes I forgot about CoH. There were lots of ladies in that game too. We had 2 in our SuperGroup. One actually followed us from our SWJK:JO / SWJK:JA clan. While most of us were superior JO players, she was one of the better JA players. We were top ranked back then when that meant something... until everyone found out JA was an unbalanced joke.

I think Nintendo is great, and I am a "hardcore gamer" like you've mentioned. What the hell is wrong with Nintendo?

The reason I loved the sims was for the building. I wanted to be an interior designer at one point lol

They just -thought- they couldn't handle it. Just have to be prepared to suck for a bit to get the hang of it. If I could do it anyone could.

Only game I've played recently was LOTRO but I'm sick of it for now. Think I might have to try some testosterone laden wargame just to prove not all girls want to play the Sims. *grin*

My first gaming experience was Thief the Dark Project back in 1999. Then onward to Thief gold, and Thief Deadly Shadows, (which sorta sucked). I am still involved with Thief, and active on TTLG forum, beta testing fan missions, have done voice work, and drawn for various fan missions, and the briefing scenes.

Thievery, multi player Thieves versus Guards, and co-op game. Which is based on the UT engine, heavy on thieving and being a guard, very high learning curve.

Doom3, Arx Fatalis, Alice, Undying, Vampire Masquerade Bloodlines, which I absolutely loved that game. Bit of Silent Hill. Always on the look out for something new. War games bore me to death. I like a challenge, not too much into RPG's strictly, though Vampire is considered an RPG of sorts.

Currently playing WoP, world of padman with AnonymouseUser. :) We used to run an RPG Invasion UT2k4 server together. Had a lot of fun, just needed a break from it, played that for about 3 years. I love to game, I will always be a gamer. :)

I'm a really big fan of the Thief series and Garett. :) We've got an interview with Ken Levine (and chat a little about Thief) here if you interested:

My wife is a casual gamer, she likes:

Guild Wars, The Hobbit, all the King's Quests, Myst, Fabel, Overlord, the Sherlock Holmes series. No FPS at all. She tried WOW and thought it was horrible.

I tried WoW and I also didn't like it at all, my boyfriend sold his account for 200+. So no reason in me playing anymore :p

Yeah, my daughter's into the Sims (2). I think it's primarily for the designing/building aspect of it.

She also likes Simcity 4, even though she's not very good at it yet ;) and she used to play AOE II a bit as well.

Now my wife, she's absolutely hooked on Bookworm. Very simple premise, but it's not a bad game at all.
