I've had it done X 2 in each eye, -8.

Each surgery blinded me for about a week each time.

I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

FelixDeKat, 2 of my friends from work have had Booth do their eyes, he's very good...

Does it matter how bad your eyes are? I'm -2.5 on each eye.. makes it so easy for putting on contacts.. hehe

Funny you would say that, that's one of my biggest irritations with contacts. I dunno how many nights I have delayed going to bed because I did NOT want to deal with my contacts.

Unfortunately for me glasses do me no good, so when the contacts come out I'm finger counting blind until they go back in.

Feh. Same here...I HATE it when...well, right about this time of night. My contact have been in for 16 hours already. They are so dry, they feel like pennies sitting in my eyes. :|

I'm 34 years old. I have had glasses since the age of 5. My very first school picture shows a geeky kid w/glasses. There's nothing wrong w/glasses. I wear them, so they must be cool. It's the INCONVENIENCE of wearing glasses. Once I was a teen and started dating (driving my 1978 light blue Chevy Nova w/the straight-6, no AC and vinyl bench seat) I always had to remember to take my glasses w/me b/c once we got to themovie theater, I couldn't see sh1t unless I had the specs on.

Nevertheless, the ladies found me irresistable!!! <--legend in my own mind.

Anyway, I'm TiRED of corrective lenses...in whatever form I decide to stick in my eye/on my face this month. I wish I could have almost perfect sight. Hell, I'd settle for 20/25, no problem. I'm like 20-50 right now.

wow, i thought it would be under $2000 since i've been seeing those $500/eye ads all over the place. i guess i'll have to wait a few years to get this procedure done

as for not rubbing your eyes for three months?!?!?!?!?!? that's insane, i would hope i could be frozen for those three months!

Worst part about lasik is that I still wake up trying to remember where my glasses are.

An 80 year old demented patient smacked me upside the head a couple months ago, (guess he thought I was a giant lizard or something) & my first thought was damn it where did my glasses go... had lasik 1.5 years ago now.

I paid a little extra for the intralasic at the last moment and got them to cut the price down to $3200. Eyes still blurry, just had a two hour nap.

It was a rather tense situtation while they did the cutting, but they did give me a sedative (volume).

i'm in my second year of correction.
i had -9 both eyes...legally blind.
haven't worn glasses in 2 years...went for independent checkup
a couple months ago, new doc said he can hardly tell surgery was ever done on mine...
i paid $499 for 1 eye, another $1000 for the other coz i wanted to correct both shortsightedness and
astimagtism...if not it would have been $499/each.

i live in SF..but flew down to sandiego to get it done...friend recommendation...
i'm kinda stabilized at 20-30 ...thank God mine has been good so far...not to scare u but i believe all candidates should
see SurgicalEyes so they know everything.

u do know we are prone to early bifocal vision...meaning we can't see small crap clearly when its near.

sounds like the main difference between the intralase and regular LASIK is the lack of that crazy suction ring... man that was the worst part too!! felt like my eyeball was getting sucked outta my head... anyway...
i'm doing ok... it's like 6:50AM on saturday, wife just left for work, and i've still got the plastic shields on, so its like i'm looking through wax paper kinda right now. My mom should be up here in about an hour to take me to the doc where they'll take off the shields and test my vision, but from what i can tell it seems pretty good.

my right eye is still a little scratchy and real watery, which is annoying cuz i have to wait for the tears to go past the shield before i can wipe it off.

Anyway, the surgery was weird... the little machine that creates the flap makes a loud buzzing sound, so i like "jumped" in the chair when it came on. Then the laser started, and man, the SMELL of the burning cornea (i mean it's right next to yer nose if ya think about it) was horrible... but it only lasted like 20 seconds for each eye. After it was over the doc was like "really nice flaps" and i said "hmm, i don't expect to ever get that compliment again"

on the way home i couldn't open my eyes... like i wanted to, but i could barely crack them open and i'd want to close them again right away. Felt like someone had poured sand in there, and they were watering like crazy

i came home at like 4:00 and took a sleeping pill and slept until around 9pm... ate some food, and took another sleeping pill and slept until like 3am. Got up and peed and roamed around a bit, then fell asleep again around 4am and got up at like 6. I'll update again after the doc appointment

Well it's official, 20/20 in both eyes.... WOOHOO!!

i was planning on like shooting and physically destroying my glasses (you would too if you were FINALLY rid of corrective eyewear) until i saw a box in the dr's office that took old glasses for poor kids and stuff...

God, I don't think I could have laser done. I have no real problem with my glasses (has them probably 8 years or so), but I can't imagine what life would be like without them. I don't even have contacts. Sounds quite scary, and that the effects are unknown isn't very calming either. :/
