Satan can try to make Hell as attractive as possible... he already does, with sin.

Sin is nothing than a twisting of what God has given us. If you think about it, nothing sinful is inherently evil - it's just twisted.

And that's what's horrible about it... it's not the real thing. Hell is a place devoid of even the twisted goodness that exists on this earth. It's a place devoid of any "good" whatsoever.

Not sure if this makes any sense to anyone. I'll come back after my stats lecture and we can throw stuff around a bit more.

The analogy doesn't work. The people in East Berlin were already there when the Soviets took over. You are not already in Hell (or Heaven) at this moment. >>

So by your question, you asked if Satan would make Hell an attractive place to take souls away from God. Then my question was simply did the Soviets make East Berlin such an attractive place to keep its citizens from trying to flock to West Berlin.

Why would satan need to make Hell attractive? enought people go there already. Perhaps there is a Heaven and Hell, perhaps there isn't. Personally, I've got nothing to lose believing in them and trying to get to heaven. On the other hand, people who think people like me are idiots... let me put it this way, if you are right then we will both be dead and who cares because we are no more. If I am right though, you will be sorry for eternity. As I said before, I've got nothing to lose by believing in this stuff.

edit: According to what i've been told, Satan was the most beautiful angel God ever created. Lucifer(?)'s good looks went to his head and sat in God's throne. Lucifer was sent to Hell for his crime along with 1/3 of all the angels. The 1/3 were all of the music angels since Lucifer was the leader of the musical angels. I probably got alot of the details wrong and left quite a few out, but I guess Satan is still mad about being kicked out of heaven.

I feel ashamed when I see websites like these. One version of the Christian faiths admonishment of the others. As though one versions the better of all others. Christianity as a whole is a religion to bring all people who believe in Christ together. Not scare someone into believing into their particular version. This overstatement of Hell, and what happens to those who dont believe in or follow the christian faith, is typical of a person with a very small mind, and a limited view of a religion as a whole. Whether you believe or not is a choice for the individual.

God didn't create suffering... there was no death, until sin was introduced into the world. What was sin (IMO)? A twisting of that which was originally good, done by man, who was enticed by Satan.

So here we have a child that is fooled into believing that if she doesn't believe in God, she will be tortured. People are so gullible. She finds some stupid booklet, reads it and reforms her life around it without bothering to verify it's authenticity.

this is pretty interesting. god creates man, man sins with the apple, therefore god created sin. also, he lets all the killing, poverty and whatever else happen in the world. given this is satan really such a bad guy? what did he really do other than give us knowledge? which god didn't even think we deserved. the god of the bible seems very egotisticle, wanting a bunch of stupid mindless people to go around worshiping him.
