Hmmm.......Russ you stated earlier that I knew little about alcoholism. I have buried many of uncles and relatives who literally drank themselves to death. If you treat all crimes as the same without knowing the intent or motive of person you have no way of knowing how to deal with that person. A person who vandalizes a property with spray paint can not be treated as the same as person who paints swatstikas on someone's house. To shoot a hole in some of guys belief that certain legislation is not needed. Here's a very real scenario. You catch two guys in the neighborhood. Both for vandalism. Nbombs are all over someone's house. You don't know which one it is. But one of them was charged with a racially motivated crime and the other was not. So tell me now who do think is more likely to be the culprit? Not all addicts can be treated the same just like not all crimes can be treated the same. If hate crime bills are not needed, then why do we need criminal profiles. The reason is to deter crime and to prevent it when the motive known. You wouldn't send send Hitler to babysit at a Jewish church now would you? If a person is a racist who commits crime should be exposed just like rapists and child molestors. In NJ people are notified in neighborhoods where a sex offender moves to. Well if I never charge person with a crime with the motive behind it I will never know who the enemy is until it may be too late.

People are not as critical about his drinking years ago, but his attempts to evade questions about his past drinking and drug use happened this past year. That is a character issue. First of all, there is no such thing as an &quot;Ex-Alcoholic.&quot; If you are an alchoholic, you are one for life, whether you drink or not. Secondly, if you do not go through a 12 step program you are not a recovering alcoholic, but a &quot;dry drunk,&quot; the most dangerous kind of alcoholic, someone who can slip over the edge at any time...

Most dry drunks are driven back to the bottle by the stress in their lives. Can't be a more stressful job than President, eh?

My two best friends are recovering alcoholics. I have sat with them in meetings, and helped them through hell. Unless you have gone through the same, you really do not know what it is like. I feel sad for the country, but I feel mostly sad for Bush's wife and family...it will not be a great suprise to see this man blow up and fall apart in front of our very eyes.

I just hope he does not have his finger on the button when that happens.

NR9 if I am a bigot I am the worse kind. A closet bigot is what I must be. Wrong!!!!!!! My wife is caucasian and I am African American . We have been together for over 6 yrs and will soon be married for 5. Just had us a beautiful little girl. One of my closest boys is a white dude. My entire life I was raised in home where color or race is a non issue. I don't even hold it against my wife. Its not her fault she's white. lol Just making some humor. But here in NJ its kinda common to see all kinds of couples of different races or ethinic background. We personally have yet to have any problems with bigotry yet. Thank God. So being a bigot I am far from that. But with that said the things I have pointed out are very real issues with Bush and the republican party. I seriously doubt if the roles were reversed that the republicans wouldn't be doing the same thing. So let's quit with holier than thou crap. But I see no one decided to take me to task for Bush and NRA marriage. Or the hand count is prefered over the machine law which his party sponsored and signed into law in his state?
