The FBI started reading the CIA director's email because they thought that it had been hacked.

No hacking charges pending against anyone.

Since the FBI reports to the justice department, this would normally mean that at least the President's cabinet knew about this...

According to FBI sources, there was a political decision made at a level above the FBI to not do anything until after the election.

The General decides not to testify to Congress about the incident in Libya. Even though there is nothing preventing him from testifying.

The general resigns even though there is no public knowledge of the affair.


Questions

Who authorized the FBI to spy on the CIA?

Who has the information that the FBI gathered?

Who made the decision not to do anything until after the election?

Who benefits if the General does not testify before congress?
