Why aren't you including the Radeon 7 in these numbers? You'd reach the same conclusion, but suddenly it isn't just exclusively an "Nvidia Tax" anymore.

With both size squeezing us, we got more options! Poorly priced options, but options! Now you can openly choose your "what a joke" product in Green or Red flavor! It's good to have competition back! ;)

Radeon VII is EOL. I only wanted to compare new cards people actually can buy going forward. I also didn't include Vega 56 or 64 or the regular 2080, even if they appeared in the tests I looked at. If you want to do so, knock yourself out.

So here is my dilemma. RTX 2060 6gb for $335 AR or 2070 8gb for $420 AR. Which is the better deal for 1080p 144hz?

No AMD cards considered as that system will already be getting a 5700 or some type down the road.

Yeah, it was down to $270 for a day on one model. But that is the single fan evga card that is 2.75 slot. No thanks, won't even fit in my itx htpc that I would eventually put it in 3 years from now.

I thought that particular card looked very htpc friendly. I got a 4gb 960 that i scored cheap luckily that is more or less using the same cooler. Very good cooler. I set MSI AB to run the fan at 50% once at 55 cel and it doesn't even load to 60cel. Card feels very solid given its size. Given my last Evga card was a blower 670 yeah the 960 certainly felt like a well built card. The 670 was a pos in comparison.

This card i am sure works in the mass majority of oem/htpc builds.

Most itx cases have only 2 pci expansion slots for gpu/network etc. cards at the back vs the 2.75 on that evga card.

Yeah i forgot how much smaller the itx size is, i am used to micro atx motherboards and plenty of slots where such a card wouldn't be a issue. I just realized i have been using micro atx exclusively for 8 years. Every time i start off a micro atx htpc build it becomes a gamer so the builds change. I had ideas of a fanless micro atx htpc build over cramming everything into a itx case and having those potential thermal issues.

Honestly though for what i watch my smart tv and a Roku works wonders. The Roku for me at least has been the best thing since sliced bread.

Yeah, my htpc kinda died for me with the roku or just using my ps4. The only real reason to use one is for pc gaming on the tv and more options for watching discs/video/movies than the consoles or roku.
