Box shots of a GeForce GTX 480. Interesting info: amount of RAM and power requirement.

Who the hell are Colorful? Are they big in North America cos I've never heard of them in the UK?

Ultra-much silver plating technology?

Is this legit? It looks a bit cheap as I thought the first Fermi based GPU's would come from BFG or EVGA or the like.

600 watt power supply required...lovely...(green nv isn't green at all)

Quit cryin and go back to bein a fanboi... 600w isn't much at all and the 5970 requires 500w so stfu, kthxbye.

And it requires 2GB of system RAM it's not a 2GB card.

Infraction given. The rest of you, please just report posts like this & not reply to the personal attack portion of the message. Thanks - Admin DrPizza

First off, wow, this isn't b.net, you need to act older than 13 even if you aren't. Second, 600W is quite a bit for a lot of people, considering its at least a 20% increase over the minimum required for the competition this generation. Third, read the label closer. Not only does it require a 600W PSU, it also requires a 42 amp 12v rail. For all of those with multi-rail PSUs, they're going to have a problem.

Relax, a 600w power supply requirement isn't THAT bad. It's not as it it actually uses that much power on its own.

The GTX 285 cites a 550W power supply as a system requirement:

Edit: I just read...

Okay, you've got a point there. : (

Power requirements gives one pause, but the 1.5GB DDR5 is pretty sexy. Guess it comes down to performance/price. I think people will be forgiving of the power reqs if the price is right.

Though fermi would mean a new PSU for a LOT of people which also costs some money.

I'm not that shocked about the 600W (ok for a single GPU that's an awful lot..), but the 42amp on the 12v rail..

Puts the dampner on Nvidias version of eyefinity as well (as you need 2 cards to do it).

Cheers. I was a bit 😕 as I'd never heard of them and was expecting to only see EVGA and BFG cards for a while.

Are they a big brand in the States or are they new?

I've never heard of them but I hope they come here. I want "Ultra-much" Silver plating on my card. 🙂

Seriously though, 42 Amps is ridiculous. I'm hoping my 9800 GX2 will keep me happy until the new AMD architecture.

If you buy me a fermi, i will bet my PSU in the rig in sig pushes it fine.

I would think so to. Requirements have historically been overstated for safety margins.
I mean, GTX280 was supposed to need 500 or 550W PSU? But I ran it fine for months on a 435W Enermax.

I've heard of them before but only in passing. It would make sense that a small Chinese company like this would leak info and not the bigger, more well known "Western" ones.

I'm an ATI fan, and I'm excited about this release for 2 reasons. To help push down the prices of the ATI cards and secondly an optional purchase possibility 🙂

EDIT: o i got kinda excited after exiting this thread, I read 'Box Shot.' Got excited, and came back for a second look :whiste:

o, you mean that kinda box :\
