Anyway, picked up the BFG - NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT OC Graphics Card for $246.39 plus NJ tax making the grand total $263.64.

The coupon says that it can be used on graphics cards but when scanned the coupon did not reduce the cost. The cashier called over a manager who authorized it when she read the coupon and so the discount was applied by the cashier.

Hope this helps someone.

Well, I installed the card.
Replaced my older evga 7900 GTO, that one gave me a 3DMark Score (3dmark06) of 5688 3DMarks.
The new BFG 8800 gave me a score of 10634 3DMarks.

Well, that is a nice improvement. Now I'm set for COD4, Crysis, and the other new games that are coming out.

Picked up 2 of these today at the Milford Ma. Best Buy. BFG - NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT OC Graphics Card @ 252 each plus Ma tax for total of 525. Had a couple of coupons for 10% off that the kid punched in by hand and over road (anything but graphic card crap) after he had read it and said they won't work on video cards . He tried scanning them also and then punched them in manually 1 for each card. To which I must of said several times your the f*****n Man. 252 for oc model seems about right .

For the superclock it's not to bad of a price.
Right now they are very hard to find, supply and demand drive the price.

I also noticed that some of the people who ordered the frys vanilla version of the 8800GT got a superclocked version in the box. You can add me to that group of people. I just checked ntune and my GPU is factory set at 650mhz!!! Anyone else find similar surprises in their 8800GT boxes?

I would keep checking, When I ordered they had 10, then it dropped to 2 then to OOS and then back to 2. Their ordering department said mine already shipped aswell but I dout it since I have not recieved any tracking information.

I didn't like the looks of their resellerratings to much. I'm going to do a quick buzz through best buy after work and if they don't have any I'll just preorder from amazon. Too bad amazon jacked up the price on the evga's though.

Were they in the $275 range or less? I'm going to be in chicago this week and hoping I can get one from the frys there on the cheap.

Unfortunately the two Best Buys near me are OOS :(

My Fry's eVga 8800GT that came in today is clocked at 650MHz core, 1625MHz shader, and 950MHz memory (x2 = 1900MHz). I guess that makes it equivalent to the superclocked version. Heck of a deal, I'm glad to have pulled the trigger. Looking at the sticker, it is 512-P3-N801-FR - Fry's carries a lot of these FR versions - the N801 seems to be the vanilla 8800GT, so I guess they "screwed up" the BIOS in our favor. I probably would not have overclocked it anyway, but hey, if it's already done for me... So far so good, but much longer than my 7900GT KO (1"+), tight fit.

MSI are good cards, but they only give 1 year warranty, that is probably why they are always the cheapest.

I had a pair of MSI 7900GTX and they overclocked better than my evga and bfg GTX cards.

but once again 1 year warranty is def a low point.

It's hilarious that my step-up price was actually among the better bargains out there.

I agree with you, DefRef, this is not price gouging. They are sold out everywhere, so if anything, they are currently underpriced, and a great value at $280.

I've got Newegg set to auto-notify me when they receive stock on the evga superclocked model, which I will happily pay $289 for. And heck it even comes with Quake Wars for free. 8800GTX performance for $289? you bet, and this is why they are all sold out.
