very happy went to Bestbuy Fairfield (bay area) they had 2 BFG 8800GT's in stock. used the 10% coupon total came to 270.57 after tax.

Screw that. I'm glad I didn't get the BFG 8800GT that I saw at my local BB this past Sunday. I strongly considered it because I had no idea when the one I ordered from Frys would be shipped, if at all. I didn't have a coupon so it was $279 for me, $293 after tax. I just got confirmation that mine shipped yesterday and will be here tomorrow. But I think anything over $250 is gauging for this card.

I just got back from Beast Buy where the poor CS girl tried to work it so that I wouldn't lose the triple-points. I'm not sure if it'll work, but more importantly, I was able to get $30 back (incl. tax) which almost covered the cost of Gears of War (PC) with Circuit City PM and $10 GC. Yeesh.

Hopefully I'll be able to spend the evening installing the card and playing GoW without incident.

no. Not that I know if. They are just finally shipping those past orders when the card was first released and sold. I DOUBT we'll see that same price anytime soon. I'm really hoping I can get a good price on a EVGA SSC card sometime near thanksgiving....

I was initially going to hold out for a SSC or KO myself, but now I regret not getting in on the Fry's deal on the stock card. I would rather have the card now then wait a couple months for overclocked cards that wont give a noticeable difference in frame rates (but make me feel warm and fuzzy inside).

I think prices/demand will drop a little when Ati releases their new cards soon

Yeah, I see your point. I guess for me, it wasn't worth it since I had already ordered it from Frys and knew it would ship within the next few weeks at least. Plus, I prefer EVGA. Not that I'd be opposed to a BFG card though.

Found a 12% Best buy coupon at the other "Fat" deal site. You have to have a reward zone card which is easy enough to get if you don't have it, it's not a credit card, just a rewards card similar to Staples program.

Anyway, picked up the BFG - NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT OC Graphics Card for $246.39 plus NJ tax making the grand total $263.64.

The coupon says that it can be used on graphics cards but when scanned the coupon did not reduce the cost. The cashier called over a manager who authorized it when she read the coupon and so the discount was applied by the cashier.

Hope this helps someone.

I almost took the plunge but thought it wont be that far off, performance wise from my X1900 GT 😛
ATi RULZ
Actually I am waiting till tax time, and to see what Ati might pull from their ass, if they dont pull out a $300 gem of a card this is the one I will be getting or a 7950gx2. Only reason I would even think the Gx2 is because it looks cool, either of the two cards will be more power I will ever need, unless ATi pulls out one hell of a card on the sorta cheap side, as if 😛, and that sux because I love ati. For years they have given to me what I thought was a good product for my money and never really had any issues to speak of the 5+ years I been using nothing but ATi graphics. In fact everything I run now on my main rig is ati, but I must admit that now it looks as if everything Nvida has to offer is a good performance to price issue, which makes them my new fan of my money soon. Again, unless Ati by tax time should redeem themselves in my eyes. But it looks like a new 939 mobo, and a pair of these in SLi is in my near future for the next year.

Wow, the resellers are really profiting from the nVidia's low MSRP. They're simply bumping it up to where it should be. $200 my eye.

Man, i am so tempted to cancel my ncixus backorder, which was 255 with shipping. And get either the bfg's besbuy one with 12% coupon or just buy direct from evga for roughly 290. Kind of want the new card for crysis which come out next week.

Hopw does bestbuy triple point RZ thing work? I through this only work with Dynex?, Rocketfish?, Insignia?, Geek Squad® and Init brand.

Maybe wait.... I just got an email from ncixus.com that the eVGA SC is available and my order is being processed right now.

Say, anyone else receive the superclocked version of the evga card Frys shipped out on Tuesday?

Came in the vanilla box but rivatuner says superclocked. Hard|Forum has users posting the same thing.

I'm thinking to fill the order, evga used what they had on hand. I guess good things do come to those that wait! 😀

I ordered on launch day and I am still on Credit Card Verification step as of now.

Yea.. the first four on the checklist are checked and verified but its been like that since Oct. 29th. <sigh> I'll stick with it because of the dirt cheap price that was actually lowered a few days ago for me (exchange rate).
