I do wonder at what point will higher frequency get bottlenecked by slower RAM, even in GB6 ST tests. Most existing users will upgrade on the same mobo with DDR5-6000 CL30. Will it be enough to satisfy the data crunching hunger of a Zen 6 core?
for Single Core tests yes

On Desktop and Linux it is entirely possible without shenanigans like SME
fyi i am expecting 20-24% ST improvements for Zen 6 10-12% from IPC and 10-12% from clocks.
Well, it better be hammering this laptop chips because if it doesn't...

How can one expect a miracle from a team that failed from ADL to ARL?
They only need 400MHz and another Lion Cove like improvement. Or just add an AMX unit (I think NVL might? @511). Then the memebench6 score goes up more even if they can't get more frequency.
Should be possible. The problem being that they'll be on 2nm competing with 3nm. And Qualcomm likely won't sit still.

No AMX for NVL but you get AVX 10.2/APX with NVL also the IPC should be double digits with Coyote Cove it's a big redesign.

Oh yeah. Forgot about APX. That might do it, with a minor version bump of GB6 just before Intel launches NVL.

AVX 10.2 I'm not so sure. Doesn't benefit AMD as much as SME benefits Apple.

Maybe Intel will force newer binaries for GB for more modern ISA 😂🤣

X2 Elite becomes the new ST champ.

Well, until M5 is released.
Don’t even need to wait till M5.

Didn't someone here run AVX512 on and off comparisons for GB6 on Zen 4 and find almost no difference in performance?
There is a big difference in Geekbench 5 between AVX-512 or or off.

The reason in Geekbench 6 the difference is small is because, as part of optimizing for Arm, they removed the sub benches using AVX-512 and then added optimization for SME.

That's not something a benchmarking company would do, only a "showcasing" company. Which is what Geekbench has become.

How about a GB6 Panther Lake score prediction contest?

Winner's the one with the ST and MT score prediction (both) closest (+/-3%) to the first Panther Lake score leak that can be verified on GB website. Prize is an (almost) complete Borderlands library redeemed with Steam keys!

And then I'll ask you for the lottery numbers too for 25% share 😛

ST: 3100-3200
MT: 14000-15000
