It's a shame that they couldn't have this ready for launch. GoW would be the killer launch app for the Xbox360 like Halo was for Xbox.

A videocard called the XBOX 360 :D.

well, if it is a based on the Unreal 3 engine, there must be other U3-based games on the PC platform then right?

I think they are counting on Perfect Dark Zero to be that game. They have been hush hush about it but all will be unveiled at X05 (october 4th I believe).

Yeah, but even when you compare what was shown of PD0 around the time of E3 and what was shown of GoW......GoW just looks so much better and more interesting.

I don't believe the 1st and 3rd one are in game screens. The second I can believe, but 1 & 3 just look pre-rendered

Yeah PC UE3 games will look that good too, but the difference this generation is that the PC no longer has the superior resolution and performance over consoles (well, it will over the non-HD supporting Revolution *barf*) and the console costs as much as a video card you'd need to run this stuff nice.

I would rather be impressed in the end by verity and express my disbelief now, than look like a neophyte and say that they are fvkign awesome and look %100 real

The parallax and normal mapping is throwing you off because you aren't used to it in games :p

I assure you its real. This is the same engine that will power Unreal Tournament 2007.

Another thing to note is a lot of the X360 games are using 3D motion blur and some depth of field and that hasn't been done much in games before, but it gives it a much more realistic look which sometimes will make you think its pre-rendered, but if you look at the details (like some of the environment textures) you will see what areas they took sacrifices.

games are not all about graphics. i prefer the story line, the presentation, and the gameplay of MGS over anything. i think metal gear solid on PSX is the best metal gear (even though i love the original on NES).
