The game looks like its going to be awesome. I just hope they clean up the fire effect which I'm sure they will.

EDIT: direct link

That vid is pretty cool. The graphics look sweet, but the gameplay doesn't look fun at all! Maybe I'm just used to FPS (i consider this pretty much a FPS b/c of the controls) on the comp, but the controls look TERRIBLE.

Im really discouraged with Sony's and Xboxs new systems, especially since nintendo announced thier new controller. I guess it has changed my whole perspective. The new Nintendo controller is so radically different, and the potential of a control like that seems boundless! everything on Xbox/PS3 is gonna be a complete rehash of what has already been done in the past. BORING.

I think MGS4 looks a lot better. I just hope the storyline isn't as confusing and wacked as it was in MGS2.

While PC's certainly can't compete from a cost standpoint (convenient that MS will be losing $$ on every console they sell...), I would think a couple 7800GTX's SLI'd + a fast CPU should be able to do any of this.

Think that plus a 30" Cinema Display. Gaming at 2560x1600?

They SHOULD be able too, but they won't. You lose way too much of the potential performance on a PC worrying about crap like compatibilty.

No, I also think that MGS4 looks better then GOW. I like the direction that Kojima is going with the next MGS. Instead of just making everything only higher polygon count he is making the world feel more real/alive/natural.

No I may very well own a PS3 as well...hell its a year apart so its not like I won't be able to afford it. I owned a PS2 but sold it once I got my Xbox....and a HDTV. PS2 looked hideous on it. I don't like japanese games...if that explains anything and PS2 didn't have much for me except GTA, which was then on Xbox.

Anyway I just hate the way Sony markets things and builds up the hype machine. They let us down with the PS2 and what it can do, and if current events mean anything it will happen for the PS3 as well. Killzone was the worst. Completely fabricated but we had to find out from the game developer, Sony claimed up and down it was real time at E3. And they throw out random figures like "2 times faster than Xbox 360" or "3 times faster" - MGS4 also had no proof it was running on real hardware, though the really crappy environment textures makes me think otherwise this time around - it was probably a real game build but it definitely wasn't running on a PS3.

And there's quite a few, at least half a dozen, Gears of War gameplay videos from the alpha and beta kits. Team Xbox and IGN should have em. Gears of War is a cross between a stealth game and an action FPS. It's very realistic....i.e. if you don't have cover to hide behind, or covering fire from a squad mate when you leave the cover, you will die.

MGS4 was running real time on beta PS3 dev kits. I believe there are some screenshots of the dev kit specs that MGS4 was running on. There is also a video online with Kojima playing around with the dev kit settings showing that the game is running real time. If I remember correctly the dev kit right now is a 2.4 ghz cell, 512 ram, and 7800 gtx. The final PS3 is supposed to have 3.2 ghz cell, 512 ram, and a card that is supposed to be better then a 7800 gtx. Also the interconnects between the cell and gtx are not running at the speeds that the final version will.

No offense but you sound like a "fanboi". Both MS and Sony hype like crazy its the nature of the business. Also are you not hyping up GOW?
