Ah well.
If everyone believed this the world would be a better place.

That, or it was a prank and the owner has been unable to peel it off.
So you need to advertise with signs on your car that say you're gay?Originally posted by: Nebor

Some people are content to let other people think what they will, and live their lives. Other people (like me) want to make people think like them, and move into the 21st century, and out of their baptist church, by any means necessary.
Sure, but I don't think sexuality is something to be proud of. Are you proud that you're a man, or that you have 5 fingers on your left hand?Everyone should be "proud" of something IMO SampSon, be it sexuality, heritage, knowledge...etc.
I go to plenty of gay bars and gay hangouts (I'm straight), they have all the advertising they need.plus, as a gay person, it can be really hard to meet other gays. a little advertising never hurt
Yes, I understand that to be the underlying principle and is typically the intent of the stickers. To me, it's more an issue of the fact that being heterosexual is expected and taken for granted. The bumper stickers seem to serve more as a reminder that there are many gay people here, and they should be respected as much as anyone else.

Kind of a rant here, I'm gettig sick of seeing the gay pride rainbow stickers on cars.

I'm not a homophobe at all. A few in my family are gay, some of my best friends are gay, it's just part of my reality. So your sexual preference is really a non issue. But touting it like something to be displated is different.
Gay equality is a "complex" issue in many peoples view, but if "they" what to be handled completely equal, why do they wear their sexual preference as a symbol of difference?

Because homosexuality isn't totally accepted, so it's still a campaign for exceptance. Maybe if someone realizes someone they know is gay because of the sticker, it will change their view on things. Maybe it's just to let their prescence be known.
What's up with these "Fallen Police Officer Family Fund" stickers that people put on their cars? So they support the families of officers killed in the line of duty. So what? Why do they need to wear it on their car?
The difference is -and Im speculating- that a decent amount of the stickers' owners have the stickers to cause problems. Ive known a couple gay people in my short life, and from the ones Ive known they mostly seem to be very pushy about their sexuality, and would make you uncomfortable with how much they bring it up/flaunt it whether they were straight or gay. It seems to be a personality trait of the gay people Ive met atleast.

Remember years ago when young couples would put "Baby on Board" stickers on their cars? I always thought those signs indicated people with low self-esteem issues. Declaring that you are somehow special because you can conceieve a baby.
Putting a sign on your car declaring a lifestyle choice is lame and immature...and in some situations might lead to violence or vandalism.
"Baby on Board" stickers were originally a notice for paramedics in case of accident. 😛Originally posted by: Zedtom

You might not care, but it's a symbol to show "pride" in what gay people believe in; the same way that a lot of people show their pride in America w/ USA stickers and flags IMO 🙂
