Just because you pick a bunch of hipo parts out of a Summit catalog, it does not make you an engineer.

How old are you ?

I have been a A.S.E. certified tech for over twenty five years so don't try to either outwit me or bullshit me because it is not going to work.

in older Fords ('97 and older) the fuel pickup only goes up to about a 1/4 tank, if you go below that you have a higher risk your fuel pump burning out prematurely because the fuel pump is having to work harder because it doesn't have as much flow pressure. This may be what he is talking about.

Yeah righhhhttt. After market parts for IH engines. SURRREEE. Everything we do is CUSTOM, there are no aftermarket parts available from any company..

I take that back, you can buy performance wide fillet bearings from clevite. Woo hoo.
Im not trying to do anything roger. I doubt I could outbullshit you even if I tried, your an oldie, you have alot more time to practice the art of BS. IM just harrasing you, you old fart.

Cars do NOT get better gas mileage above 1/2 tank. Car manufacturers DO purposely rig fuel gauges to read inaccurately and drop slowly at first, so that the 1/2 tank line in most cars is really more about 1/3 tank.

Why do they rig them like that?

Duh, it's because they're made by Shade Tree Engine Builders, not PURFERMUNCE ENGINEERS with CUSTOM 392s OMG 0/2 ORDER Q ROFLWTFBBQGRASS. Sheesh, learn a little bit about automotives before you post.

You don't design engine parts. Get over yourself.

You might run and maybe even program a CNC lathe/mill, but you don't sit at the computer and design engine parts & then fabricate the said parts.

You haven't even been to school yet. Give me a break.

OMG

I'm seventeen years old and know more about cars then the majority of you guys here... that's pretty sad, considering I don't even drive yet! (No car, meh)

First of all, there is no real harm in driving a car down to below 1/2 a tank of gas... the only thing that would harm a car is if you completely RAN OUT of gas... so you should prolly fill up at 1/8 of a tank or earlier (earlier if you want to make sure you don't run out if you have an emergency or something)...

One other thing I think no one has mentioned is that if your tank is 1/2 full as opposed to full, you'll get SLIGHTLY better mileage due to the lessened weight of the car (and slightly better accel, more effect the larger the gas tank). So in terms of mileage, it might help minimally not to fill up all the way. What my friends usually do is just buy $5 or $10 worth of gas unless they're at <1/8 of a tank. Doesn't really save money, but oh well... makes it seem like you're spending less...

Try reading the thread there, champ. Specifically, pay attention to the parts where we already covered everything you just talked about. ;)

Mah. I didn't say I design the parts. We adapt them. We have all of our parts made by Dave at dlhmachine. He MADE a set of pistons for us before, along with numerous rods, and cranks that came from diffent apps, the he offset ground to the correct side.

The only thing we are sure of is by admission that you think you know more than the majority of guys here about cars along with that that you don't even own one is:

1) you really are 17

2) you are an older than 17 troll.

gg, would you like to super size that?

If you don't have a degree on the wall (or drive a train :p), don't claim to be an engineer.

You know, that's pretty damn funny considering that you contribute nothing to any of the car threads, all you do is berate people and I have yet to see you give any advise or help anyone in the car repair threads.
I feel really sorry for you, you are a bitter unrelenting person who berates other members to make yourself feel better.

I am sure you are going to come back in this thread or others and try to put me down again, this only shows your true nature and nothing else.

No that is not true. I add to many car threads more than beration. What's wrong I rained on your praise parade or are you still bitter than I PROVED you wrong that absolutely no Factory Service Manuals for Aluminum Headed cars call for Anti-seize compound. How's about dem apples?

The problem is you feel like you are the AT Car God and absolutely no one else can measure up to your knowledge.

I thought you said you were leaving and never coming back.

Roger IS the AT car god. Whenever I see a YACT I see one or more of his replies in there...I'll believe in a car god who actually contributes and helps, not one who appears every now and then whenever he damn feels like it.

True that.

I know it is harder to start a FI engine that have ran dry than a carbed one. At least it used to be that way. Other than that there is no harm.
If you have lots of condensation in the tank it might be a problem.

Hmmm I guess before colleges were there was no engineering done...

You can be an engineer, you just can't bill yourself out as an engineer in the USA and some other countries unless you have a valid license, which usually requires coming from a valid 4 year university.

I have an uncle that claims he's a Custodial Engineer ... he has no special liscences ... Does this mean he is not really an Engineer?

:)

Sorry, I have nothing useful to contribute to this thread ...

Way to run off the only person (other than Quixfire) who knows anything about cars. You're an ass.

No degree. Technically if oyu want to be anal about it no im not an engineer. Whatever

No election. Technically if you want to be anal about it, no I'm not the President of the United States, but you're still a dumbass. Whatever. You're done.
