The guy looked pretty built. It'd have been funny as hell if he'd have caught the little punks and beat then to within an inch of their lives...

"Now who's laughing punk?"

Then, stuffed them into the trashcan for pick up.

you guys take things way too seriously. its fucking WATER ON THE FLOOR. 99% chance no real damage was done. holy shit you guys are little babies. it was a video on the internet and you guys are raging. but if it was a video of cops beating the shit out of someone, real harm, you guys would be condoning it. you guys are fucked in the head. some of you shouldn't be allowed out in public. fortunately, many of you don't go out, so I feel somewhat safer

My sister's little 5lb Chihuahua peed on the floor once and the landlord noticed the "water" damage the next time he visited (edges of wood floor panels swelled permanently). It comes right out of my security deposit, even though I half blame his crappy job (could have been tighter and used more sealant).

agreed... terrible prank...

one person suggested a garbage can of paint instead... if its a lot thicker than water, it probably would do less damage overall than plain water! thick paint wont easily make it through to the base/floorboard to cause underlying damage(fast mopping up.. although a full 30 gallons would take a while)

I knocked over a whole gallon of paint onto a hardwood floor before and was surprised at how well it cleaned up. Paint usually take a while to dry and is too thick to seep in.

Greater than that. Not many homes have tile floors. It is usually something you would see in a green house or a garden sort of center. Given this looked to be a nice home, I would put money on the fact that the floors were not tile.

Yup. In homes, you only see it in kitchens, bathrooms, and outdoor patios, etc and, even then, linoleum (sp?) is much more common. It may not be porous, but the water must go somewhere (the wall, the vent, the pipe rising out of the floor, etc) where it will then get under and compromise everything else.

You keep forgetting about carpeting.
That's two types of flooring, with tile of some sort as third type of possible flooring - without prior knowledge, that's a 2/3 chance of possibly causing expensive damage to personal property.

Please tell me you are at least still only in high school - that gives you some excuse for such naive views.

It's not just flooring. I know a guy who owns a ServPro franchise and #1 money maker is broken water heaters. Water ruins base boards getting behind them, Crawls up base plate into sheetrock and insulation. Basically 50 gallons and you're replacing whole 4-5 feet from floor. Usually what he does is drill out 4" holes in sheetrock if sheetrock has not swelled yet pulls insulation - then sprays new in, patches holes puts new base on, textures, painting , etc... all those tradesmen cost lot's of cash.

The only idiot is you. Everyone is a witness. Another lesson since yoo seem to be an orphan - when it's everyone else's problem, it's time to look in the mirror.

Rule #1: When losing an argument, jump into personal attacks.

Some us us "Appalachian Americans" not only have hardwood, we know how to install it ourselves too.

1. That isn't a prank. That's vandalism.

2. Apparently slayer is a toolbag.

3. Nice floors Engineer. I'd like hardwood floors but I'm afraid my dog would scratch them up.

Fucking stupid.

A real prank is supposed to be a funny story for everyone after its all over. Potentially causing a couple grand in damage is not funny.

Are you like an ADD idiot? You are the one that brought "Bad parent" into the thread, he countered. And since you don't seem to realize that you made the claim he probably didn't even own hard wood floors... He countered AGAIN.

you're the one that started with personal attacks calling me a stupid fucker right off the bat lol. funny guy....personally attack me and then pretend my argument is null because i attacked you back...you are a piece of work...
I would consider what he said a statement of fact more than a personal attack. You, however, decided it was prudent to start digging into the post history to try and use an ad hominem attack, or some other fallacious argument.

so maybe the water could have done damage, oh noes, i thought the video was funny. you and others started to rage at me, which is funny also. especially you because you are an idiot. i'm done now
Really, nobody started to "rage" at you. People started pointing fingers and laughing at you when you made stupid claims such as "water on the floor, wahhhhhhh" and "It's water on a fucking floor. you guys are taking this way too seriously 'well, well it can cause damage!??!@!!! don't you care about the wood floor, do you have a house!!! your mom cleans it up!@@@!'"

AFAICT, your whole argument for why we shouldn't condemn this is "the guy looked like a prick". Yeah... Once YOU own a home, or at very least have had to deal with water damage, come back and let us know how you would react if 30+ gallons of water was dumped onto your floor.

The guy was instantly ticked. I would have been as well. I don't find wanton vandalism "cool" or "funny" even when the person "looks like a prick".

Gotta love ATOT, learn a few new things every day. Today I've learned:

1) 13Gigatons is a douche
2) slayer202 is a giant toolbag
3) Engineer has some nice hardwood flooring
4) Those kids are lucky that guy didn't catch them, with the way he's built I'm pretty sure he would've stuffed their bodies in the garbage can.

Didn't even get a chuckle watching the video as that guy had every right to be super pissed. From what I could see in the video it looked like the stairs were carpeted so in in all likelihood the entryway was carpeted as well although there's a pretty good chance it was hardwood. Tile/Linoleum in that kind of house is pretty unlikely.

If you find this funny, you are a stupid immature kid. This is not a matter of opinion, this is fact, you ARE a douche if you find vandalism like this funny.

Damn when I used to do the water prank, we'd just put the can on the knob and let a hose fill it. It wouldn't spill in, but you couldn't open the door.

For double ring handle doors, just jam a newspaper in it.

We'd tie a light fishing line the knocker and hangout about 100'+ away.

No property damage though.
