Read some more, Sparky. Milo the Hairy Skinhead is collecting money for an unregistered charity that is supposed to benefit poor oppressed white men by granting them scholarships. Not only that but there is no way for said poor white guys to apply for a scholarship and yet Milo claims to have already disbursed $100,000 to poor oppressed white guys. Milo said that he was going to have application links up on his site last spring, yet there are none. How did these poor oppressed white guys apply for the hundred grand Milo says that he has already handed out? Are they special friends and supporters whose loyalty he is rewarding with the money from others?

There are a whole lot of questions and Milo better be lawyered up when the state(s) and feds get involved. Yeahimadumbass is running afoul of some very serious state and federal laws that pertain to charities, scholarship grants, tax law and a whole lot more, yet he is blowing it off like it's nothing big. Now it comes out that he was caught transferring collected money into his personal account, and yet drooling idiots like you still rush to his defense.

If Milo is found to be defrauding people I hope his smug ass get smacked down, hard. He's earned it.

Seems like safer ground legally doing that with a video game than with scholarships. At least one big part of developing a typical indie video game would probably be supporting oneself during the effort. That money would be taxable if no corporation were set up, but it would probably still be discretionary. With money raised for scholarships, maintaining separation should be a lot more important as one could only reimburse oneself for very specific expenses and salary, I'd think. Assuming for the sake of argument that Dr. Doug is correct about the general facts of the case, I would think a prosecutor could make a solid case for either fraud or embezzlement, depending on how the financials were set up.

I'll defer to one of our bandits of the bar, but ethically it seems to me that if one is raising money for scholarships, strict separation and accounting is an absolute necessity.

Some actually are. Ive never really identified with gamergate, but the named issues of corruption and partisanship are real, as is some level of sexism in the video game industry and community. It is sad to see right wing politics and the alt right take over gamergate, but then again it is also sad to see lying, moralless, hypocritical partisans take over feminism, and just give the real sexists cover behind the broader gamergate movement.

Two years is a joke to begin with, have been beta testing MMO's 15-20 years ago.

Like I've said before, some of the best guilds I were ever in at the time were run by female players, used to go on raids with a lot of them.

Even had a older player I joked around with in WOW and his daughter had divorced her husband and ran off with a guy about 12 years ago, the father thought she was a bit of an airhead then. Not sure how that worked out in the long run, haven't played WOW in ages either, I used to be a popular pick up player in PUGs and the Mods there knew me well enough I got a few surprise messages asking me "WTF did you do that" if I made a mistake now and then. And they were not even in the group at the time.

Even had some twit in Divine Vengance try to screw me on the DAOC forums over some bullshit issue about a female issue when I left BlackThornes, all the guild leaders at the time disputed his crap on the forums there and I joined OCT and ran with them even in other games when I ran into them soloing on new games.

The only thing I really see are a lot of gamers that can't play worth a crap for the most part here and there trying to make an issue out of it and whining a lot for attention.

So it is funny to watch.

Go play Eve Online awhile if you want to see some real grief and bitching

I used to have a few tricks there, but the training is too tedious to pay for a subscription full time and I stopped bothering.

Other than that it's a bunch of BS whining.
