One side, pro-GG, doesn't want speech curtailed, they want to weigh evidence and look at all angles of a subject. While the other wants to close off and effectively limit speech that they find incongruous with, or harmful to, their opinions. When conversation is restricted, despite whether it hurts your feelings or makes you uncomfortable, so is society as a whole.

Here's a weird concept for you (that goes against your doctrine...) Pointing out someone's offenses does not mean you're a 'victim'.

One chooses to consider themselves a victim to gain sympathy, extra compassion, and gifts (tangible or otherwise.) This is why the femi-SJW crowd love, love, LOVE to consider themselves 'victims' at every possible opportunity. A victim gets patted on the head and given a lollipop while the white knights suit up to go kick the 'offenders' ass for her. Even if the truth is he hadn't done anything at all, she kicked him in the shins, then cried that she was a victim to have him re-punished by "the system". Pretty sweet deal for her.
