Nobody care about baseball anymore.... except of course me!

Unfortunately since both teams can't lose I don't have much to get excited about.

I felt so bad for the Phillies tonight. I don't know if statistically they do better at home. And they're coming in at 1 and 1 so they deserve a good reception at least.

Grease up them poles, boys, somebodies getting ridden out on the rail in the city of Brotherly Love, Gentleman!

(I literally don't know that that means, but I read some stuff about Philladians celebrate sports emporiums)

@zinfamous - yeah, seems to be a thing. So of course the nightly news showed one fan going up a pole like piss up a rope . . . wait . . .

Technically what the visiting team wants to do in the World Series is get at least a split in the first two on the road so they have a chance to win it all at home in 3-5.

In other words even though they lost tonight Philly actually got it done in Houston.

Having said that, Houston's pitching staff is SOOOO much deeper than Philadelphia's (especially the bullpen) I just don't see how they can match up over 7 games.

47 & 34 at home (13 games over .500)

40 & 41 on the road (1 game under .500)

and I'm guessing even a small risk of injury doesn't justify "recycling" pitchers.

You can try but anything more than maybe an inning of relief on less than 3 days rest at bare minimum isn't likely to end well.

Plus you are correct.... these players are worth a LOT of money!

Took me a minute, but "very interesting" as Sergeant Schultz would say.

edit: nope not gotten.

Essentially the Phillies were 14 wins better at home than on the road during the 2022 regular season.

So yes, huge home-field advantage.

turns out you can't really pwn nbs when you're 50 years old and are not spending 10 hours a day gaming.

I expect the Astro's to take it in 5 or MAYBE 6 games. (a Houston sweep wouldn't have shocked me)

Home-field advantage right now however goes solidly to Philly.... those people down there are real pieces of work! (they make the Astros fans look quiet and reserved!)

Even "professionals" don't enjoy being incessantly and loudly mocked and called every name in the book for the duration of the game! And you can bank on that $hit in the "City of Brotherly Love" ROTFL... Seattle WAS really loud but it was a "polite" kind of loud.

;)

And before anyone chimes in with "what about Yankee stadium!!1!!" the problem with that place in the playoffs especially is that the average everyday Yankee-fan ISN'T THERE AT ALL because they can't afford tickets.

The old Yankee stadium (RIP) used to shake in the post-season .... the new one is full of rich folks sitting on their hands.

postponed because of mist or something

And MNF looks like a real thriller!

EDIT: ONE major "positive" far as I'm concerned ..... Syndergaard lost his start!
