Same, or maybe I should stop buying consoles. Every console I have bought (personally) has failed. Hmmmm.

Investors are concerned that Nintendo has not risen to the challenge provided by competitors, such as Sony and Microsoft, by targeting the casual user, which is where most of the growth in games demand has been coming from.
:Q

nintendo has better casual gamer titles than sony or MS...

Looks like I lost out on this one. The console looked good at the beginning, but now it is starting to get fewer good games, and I'm thinking about selling mine.

It really depends. Sony and X-Box players think maturity is correlated with violence and boobs so they get the games with the most gore and girls with the biggest honkers, then deride games that require strategic thinking or similar as "kiddy" while incessantly pounding on one button on the controller and fooling themselves into thinking it's fun.

I heard Nintendo was going into the sex toys business...
?We are thinking of launching a completely different kind of game. We are confident that we can develop a product that anyone can enjoy and that will provide people with a new kind of excitement,?
yep, see, told ya so!!!

Hahah! That will never happen. Their GameBoy is the number one selling console (albeit handheld) in the world. They'll never pull a Sega.

/me loves his GameCube :D

Nintendo wont be going anywhere anytime soon, but unless they take the #1 spot in 2005/2006 with their next home console, I can bet they pull out of the home console market. It would be a smart move on their part. It would leave them with two very profitable divisions, hand helds and software.

I think this calls for another price cut! $99 will make a gamecube worth it.......same price as the GBA SP tho.

I didn't know the Gamecube was doing so poorly. They have the best kids games. I have an Xbox and there are only one or two titles I would consider buying for kids. I love my Xbox since KoToR came out but if Nintendo stops selling consoles, there aren't going to be many family console games out there for the Xbox or PS2.

They're not going to stop making consoles. They've just halted production of the Cube because it simply isn't selling well. You can't sell a system when the only developer that makes great games for it is yourself.

Well, there are some good third-party games... but they're typically multi-platform.

if nintendo stopped producing home consols, and become a strictly third party developer, they would be making so much cash just from how many quality titles they put out each year. combine that with a dominant handheld market and we're talking an extremely successful company that has more successful games out than blizzard and more handhelds sold than palm. crazy stuff.
