The display on the TabPro 8.4 is definitely better than the display on the G-Pad, I can personally verify that. But to say the LG model has one of the crappiest displays out there is just flat wrong. I read on mine every night, and the only complaint I can really levy against it is that it doesn't get as bright as the Samsung models. Which, given that I'm reading indoors, isn't even an issue. You will experience no problems playing games with darker scenes, as the display still gets plenty bright enough. We're talking about a lower ability to use the tablet on a bright sunny day outdoors, not anything that will effect day to day use in doors.
To be fair though, my unit does not suffer from the yellow tint that many others reported. Whether that is because I have the GPe version and not the LG version, I don't know.
The LG model also uses a much, much higher quality of build compared to the Samsung. The Samsung, despite the faux leather, still gives off a 'cheap' vibe, while the LG model screams premium with its brushed aluminum chassis.
For being LG's first entry into the tablet market, the G-Pad is an excellent first attempt, if unfortunately named.
