Hello all, just wanted to check in on the Tab Pro 8.4 option. It appears to be on sale for $250 on BestBuy. At that price, is it worth it? Is the battery life still as bad as initial reviews suggested? I'm going to be using it primarily for PDF reading and web browsing. Thanks!

No, the battery on my TabPro is exceptional, it can last at least a day if you use it moderately. You might want to try the Tab S 8.4 because the screen is much nicer and I think Samsung with update the Tab S more than the TabPro.

Thanks! The Tab S is nearly 150 dollars more, plus the screen on the Tab Pro is good enough for me.

I agree. I was a little miffed when the Tab S came out shortly after I bought my Tab Pro 8.4, but when I played with both back to back, I was not really impressed with the amoled screen on the S compared to my Pro. I watch a lot of movies at night and amoled with its true black, doesnt look so good to me in the dark. I only regret paying top dollar, $400, at the Pro's launch instead of waiting a bit. And the battery life is odd. Some days I get 8+ hours, some days 4 hours. Weird.

I have one of each - TabPro 12.2 + Tab S 8.4

I use my TabPro 12.2 way more than the 8.4 but I do give a edge to the Tab S screen mostly due to the deep blacks.

So, I decided to take the plunge and got the Tab Pro 8.4 from BestBuy. Love the tablet, screen (with a matte protector) is great for reading. BUT. The UI and general Samsung bloatware is...annoying. Really annoying. Thus, I'm thinking of moving over to CM11. Anyone with experience of CM11 on the Tab Pro 8.4? Battery life, stability and smoothness are my major concerns (in that order).

Also, are there any specific Samsung apps which can be loaded onto the tablet after CM11 is installed? Or are they gone for good?

Why not just install Google Experience Launcher to reduce Samsung bloat? Freeze the bloatware and you should be good to go.

It's a no brainer @$200. It basically kills all the tablets between $100 and $200. 2560x1600/8.4" for $200 is awesome.. I just can't justify another tablet. I might consider gifting it.

If anybody wants a mint condition Tab Pro 8.4 for $200 shipped in the CONUS, drop me a PM. Otherwise I'll trade it to Amazon soon.

I guess you didn't see what people have been talking about just a few posts up. It's now being sold $200 at BestBuy.
