Verizon is still a step or two behind their competitors with phones.

It's missing dual core phones, but of the single core phones out there, there's quite a good lineup :)

But even then AT&T only has the Atrix which isn't mind blowing because of Blur and lockdown. The SGS2 will put everyone on an equal footing finally.

So far, this is shaping up to be THE phone to own this year. From what little information is available about this one and the EVO 3D I'd say that the Galaxy S2 is more desirable. Although the Samsung will certainly be released on Sprint at least a couple of months after the EVO 3D. Time will tell if I'm able to hold out.

really? I actually like the HTC Sensation over the SGS2. qHD is nice, and the 16:9 factor is nicer to hold because 4.3 @ WVGA resolutions is a little wide for me.

The Sensation looks like an excellent device. The problem for me is that it's only been anounced for T-Mobile at this time and I'm stuck on Sprint.

That and the device will locked by HTC. Samsung has yet to lock any of their devices.

Sensation is completely locked down.
Expect it to be another Incredible S/Incredible 2...Will have little to no support from the modding community.

Well the Evo 3D is practically the same phone save for the 3D.

that is true. but remember the tmobile g2? people worked 18 hour days to get that stuff unlocked. after 2 hard months it was done.

the reason the incredible s hasn't been unlocked with might be because it's a mid range phone and a lot of the devs were waiting for dual core. now that the sensation is getting released, hopefully we get a lot more support.

the bootloader may be signed, but people worked to crack the desire, desire hd, g2, etc. and this may be done again. at least it's not encrypted like motorola's is...

ARG!!! I want an AT&T Attain yesterday!

Problem is that when I went to the AT&T store to check out the new AMOLED+ (on the Infuse) and I tried to name drop the Attain, I got a look from a manager that was more "I have no ____ing clue what you are talking about" rather than the "stop talking about the better phone we plan to release in two months" look I wanted.

If I had to guess, that means September/October, which would be torture.

I think it might be different this time. Cyanogen went G2x even though everyone knew the Sensation was due for imminent release. HTC may have bit the dev community a few too many times.

I want a Sammy now! Running on a month-by-month with Sprint now, tempted to switch over to T-Mobile just to be able to buy and import one of these phones to use.

Galaxy S 2 won't work on t-mobile's 3g bands. Only on ATT. It is also going for $800 to import it.

Where did you order from? All of the places in the UK want $800+. I'd consider it, if I could get it for $600 or less.
