I think a lot of gay people don't realize that homosexuality makes people uncomfortable. It makes me uncomfortable. I don't want to see two dudes kissing, yet I don't care if a guy and a girl are kissing. So what. To me, its natural. Just like to gay people, being gay is natural. But since the majority of people are straight, you can either be flamboyant and make everyone feel uncomfortable (and in turn be somewhat of an outcast) or try to keep it to yourself and close friends. It's a fact of life, no matter how unfair.

Take that one guy on Last Comic Standing, for example. All of his material was about being gay, and for some reason people thought it was funny. I seriously wish I could punch that dude in the face. He annoys the hell out of me. I never heard one joke that entire show that didn't have to do with him being gay.

This is not directed at anyone in these forums but just something I wanted to point out since we're on the subject.

Of course I can't speak for all gays, but I *KNOW* that homosexuality makes an insanely large number of heterosexual people extremely uncomfortable.

I am not flambouyant in real life, nor has *any at all* ever asked me if I am gay IRL, without having prior knowledge - my actions and lifestyle do not give it away. However, this is an online forum - here's where I can relax, without fear of repercussion (for the most part). I don't want to be banned for anything, so I don't go too over the top... but if I were to be banned... oh well, I guess I'll spend more time elsewhere, or create a new account. Here is where I'm able to throw crap in people's faces, to get their reactions, without the risk of being physically assaulted for it (at least in the short term)... so why should I care if I make people on ATOT uncomfortable with my sexuality? I really don't intend to do that - and honestly, I hadn't talked about homosexuality a huge amount until the last couple of weeks. The difference? I realized that it's just an online community... I do value my reputation around here and on other forums, but why not act however I feel?

IRL, I do keep to myself and my friends. It would be stupid to do otherwise - there are too many insane people out there that would go apeshit if I were to be flambouyant in the wrong situation... not that I'd ever want to anyway, for that matter.

I know that this thread is about rbloedow, not myself, but your post was about gay people as a generalization - and that's what I'm responding to.

I may give bridgen a hard time about being metro sexual and may not understand how a guy can be homosexual, but I realize people are all different and all have there own desires. Don't stop posting here because a few people are narrow minded and can't see the larger picture. I appreciate having a larger audience of different individuals contributing to this forum beyond the typical virign geek we all expect. Don't be dismayed by their bigotry.

You are jumping the gun, once again. This has nothing to do with liking or disliking gays. You and many other people are failing to see that. What this has to do with is reminding everyone on internet forums about your sexuality.

My comments were not specifically meant for you...I understand where you are coming from...but you really need to put yourself in RB's shoes and realize what it is like to be the society outcast.

I really don't think he makes any more homo inuendo/jokes then we make babe/hetero jokes. Just give him a break. He's excited about being open about who he really is...and he wants to share it with us...he's not trying to offend anyone.

I understand he's not trying to offend anyone and neither am I, though GeekDrew is making it hard. What bothers me is as both GeekDrew and Rbloedow have proven, it's mostly about them. They don't care what other people think. If that's the case, why should I?

You *weren't* trying to offend anyone? Good job with that, thus far!!!

Case in point.

I gave up on caring whether I offended you or not when you offended the entire gay community.

Keep this in mind - it was not until the mid 20th Century that laws banning marriage between blacks and whites were declared unconstitutional. Funny - the arguments about those relationships being unnatural are hauntingly familiar... and similarly wrong.

IMO marriage has ONE basic fundamental reason. To legitimize offspring. Off spring can not be created during gay sex period, hence there is no need for a marriage!

Yeah. He doesn't have to be "all out there". It's not like he gets singled out in at least 2 threads and it's not like anyone makes passing comments about him being gay in other threads. He shouldn't say that stuff at all. That stuff will be brought to light all on its own by the tolerant folks.

Hey, lock it if you feel you must. I waded in mid-thread, with my own opinion. Last time I checked, I was entitled to my own opinion.

You don't like my choice of vehicle to drive...does that make it wrong?

Ok - I don't see how anything rbloedow or geekdrew said was offensive. At the most, they are excited that they found each other (maybe even love) on a geek forum.

Funny... there were no threads trashing geekbabe and Red Dawn's relationship when they allegedly got together. ... and nothing is grosser than old folks bonin'. ;)

Why then are rbloedow and geekdrew treated differently?
Why was this thread created?

It is simply because they are gay. They are different from the majority of you undersexed losers, and you bigots just can't take it.

Grow a thicker skin, folks. Seek to be offended, and you shall find offense.

It is not like rbloedow posted a thread that said "OMG 9 days until I get to glaze geekdrew like a Krispy Kreme donut"

That would be offensive. ;)

So... are ya? ;) j/k Sorta.

But Geekbabe and Red Dawn are not gay. They are heterosexual. A normal, natural, acceptable, relationship. Of course, "normal, natural and acceptable" only pertains to 99% of the population that ARE actually "normal, natural and acceptable." I.E. not gay.

So the hell what? The thought of 2 crusty, old folks banging ass really gives me the heebies. Why is it ok to acknowledge - even celebrate their union, while denigrating a gay union?

Cripes, we're really getting down into the weeds here. Their AGE doesn't matter. She's a she and he's a he! THAT"S WHY, dammit!

We dont' have two guys alternating who's going to be the man and who's going to be the fem, depending on the night of the week. We don't have two women flipping a coin as to who's going to strap on the Pink Pussy Pounder of Poundage dildo tonight.

We have one female, one male, engaged in a natural, normal, acceptable relationship and I hope they last a long time and are happy.

You Twinkie Tweakers like to kick and scream about your Right to Protest and Exist, when in fact, you don't even know what the hell you really want yourselves!

You want social and legal license to screw anything that moves...don't know if it's got a twig and berries b/t it's legs or not, but hey, I'm an "Open Person!!!"

Well, good for you, "Open Person." Move to the jungle and conjugate your sexual verbs with the other confused animals that don't know nor care about what/who/why/how they're screwing.

Actually, I'm straight, and you are a close-minded bigot whose every sentence further illustrates my point.

Quit while your behind.

Then why is the divorce rate 50%+? Hell, why is divorce allowed at all then? Wouldn't that be "bad for the children"?

Why did some of you think this thread would be locked or Xio would get banned ??
He made a valid point.

Let me put this perspective.
GeekDrew and Rb are gay.
I have never ever notice Geekdrew make any kind of comments that led me to believe hes gay. In fact, I didn't really know he was gay until that stupid ____days thread.

In the other spectrum, I've notice RB makes gay innuendos all the time.
Despite of that, I didn't have a problem with it.
It started to get irritating was when he made a couple of threads about GeekDrew coming to visit. Its attention whoring is what is was.

You can be gay but why do you need to keep hinting to everyone that you're gay.
Its really borderline attention whoring.

To me, Rb has 2 different personality on ATOT.
Before, I know him as an easy going pizza delivering guy who owns a Scion xB.
After he came out, he whole personality changed and alot of his posts reflect that.
Its like he makes sure everyone know that hes gay.

If you're a long time member on ATOT and you haven't notice the difference in his posting pettern, you're not being honest.

Divorced down the road or not, the children are still not "bastards".
