Yea but I wouldn't eat the BLT and then question the price, I'd refuse to pay until I had an explanation for the price different.

subway stores ares individual owned franchises. Each subway is free to do their own pricing except nationally advertised specials and even those are optional.

And there, I think, is the reason the OP is getting a roasting.

you may have went a tiny bit over the top, but without being there and hearing how that douche treated you its hard to tell. at any rate, charging for bacon is retarded if it is in the name of the sandwich.

thats like going to go buy a car, and it says A/C on the ticket, but when you go to pay there is an additional fee for A/C installation. that makes no sense and you could rightfully be pissed about it. this situation is no different in principle. no one would have a problem if you b!tched about that A/C, but suddenly you are a big baby if you make a remark about shady business practices just because it didnt cost you as much.

The question is not the amount they charged... It's if bacon is included. They advertised a "Chicken Bacon Ranch" sandwich and offered it at X price. You can be sure that the "recipe" for the sandwich is determined by the home office. Every place chain I know of is that way. That way if you go to subway in CA, sandwich XYZ will taste the same as if you got it in NY.

If Bacon was extra, it should have either 1) been noted on the menu or 2) asked the buyer if he wanted it and notified of the price difference. From the OP, I assume neither was the case. If Corp office says the sandwich has the these ingredients on it, and they advertise that sandwich at $X, then they should honor that price for the sandwich as described. Just because it's a franchise, don't think for 1 moment Subway would allow 1 of thier licensees to change the included ingredients...

so the guy made a mistake. cut him some slack. im sure youve made plenty of mistakes that the rest of us could shrug off and call you stupid, but thats not fair...so back off. either way, it doesnt change the fact that the manager was shady.

That's because so many idiots like yourself feel the need to post something about his/her extremely mundane life mistakenly believing that it might be of interest to others.

Hey my life isn't all that interesting either but you don't see me creating threads about some minor irritants that's part of everybodies daily life. You see I understand that it's really not interesting and I don't try to waste the time of others by creating a thread about them.
WTF?! You're picking on the wrong guy. Where the fvck were you in every post Tec688 has made in the last week? That guy has posted nothing but sh1t for days.

But that's enough. You're obviously a fvck and me telling you so won't change anything.

As for the OP, I'd have handled it the same way. First you try to calmly resolve the situation, and when you realize that you're left with no options, let off some steam.

And for the record, that CAN'T be legal. Do they say specifically that it will be extra? No. That's bullsh1t. I think that manager was charging you incorrectly, and doing it on purpose. Maybe the owner of that particular store has made that policy and the manager was following orders, but I guarantee you that their corporate HQ isn't thinking that way.

If at the time of purchase, I question the final price because it seems high (fully implying, "Hey, please check the itemization because the price seems incorrect), and they tell me, "Yes, it's right." That should be the end of it. Why should I stop to think they're still incorrect? That would be good enough for almost anyone. It wasn't until I sat down and started staring at the menu again that I realized it was in fact, wrong.

Maybe if I was buying a house and we were filling out the paperwork and the price seemed high, I would stop and make them spell out the costs for me. But I wasn't going to hold up the long line at the time of initial purchase to further question the cost of my sandwich after the price has already once been validated by one of their employees.

BAH! I know how it is... when you're in that situation, you assume you're adding something up wrong, so you sit down and THEN think it out.

Hey, there's no reason to lose your cool about it in the store. If the manager won't help just take a comment card and complain to the corporate customer feedback line. You'll probably get a coupon out of it or something, and maybe it'll go on that store's permanent record.

1) It would still be a very shady practice, and

2) He would have pointed such a sign out to me, which he didn't because no such sign existed.

Not going to comment about your incident but I doubt other Subways are adding an additional cost of bacon to a bacon sandwich. Hopefully you kept the reciept and if you truly feel passionate about this situation, you should write a letter to corporate.

The subway by my work has an ass for an owner as well. They would charge you an extra $1.25 for the bacon on a chicken bacon ranch if you had wanted that as your free sandwhich with the subclub coupons.

Reason given: "we don't have a button for it yet"

There are a few subways that I truly love.

Well, i think that's wrong... if you're going to have something called Chicken Bacon Ranch... it should be common sense that it COMES with bacon.

But i wouldn't have did what you did... i would have politely thank him, and went into the washroom, and taken a dump and wiped the sh1t everything. Even on the ceiling if i could, just to make it that much more of a pain. And spell out Bacon in sh1t just so they know it was you.

I'm gonna go order one of these on my way home and see what's what. I checked their site and it doesn't mention charging extra for the bacon, I'm betting it was a mistake on their part, or they're doing it on purpose to pull in some extra cash.

meh

If some fast food manager was being rude to me I'd probably cuss him out too.
