I think my wife paid in the realm of $250-$400 for her dress. It looked amazing on her too. Fortunately, my wife is smart enough to realize that it's just a dress ultimately. She felt bad that she had diamonds on her wedding band and insisted that I have them on mine. Despite my objections, I have a wedding band with diamonds. At least she looks out for me, unlike other people's soon to be wives...... 😉

Geekbabe, I have rarely agreed with you but I side with you 100% on this one. If his fiance's greatest demand is a gigantic, expensive wedding then I forsee trouble in the near future.
