I'm in Sacramento and we are re-installing our package unit on the roof.
Currently 155* up there. We are taking a water break, should have the ducts connected shortly.

the only nice thing about a 3 level town house is theres always one place where you're comfortable.
 
Ouch that sucks. If I lived in a hot place like that I'd probably have redundant units and a generator that can power at least one of em.

I'm sitting here at work, and it's around 23C or so. I'm also logged into my house, and it's in the low 20's.

Living Room 21.3125°C (=)

HVAC Return 19.75°C (=)

Was freaking hot in my home office though, my new core i7 system is like a space heater. Got a 1 ton AC unit to take care of that though. Going to move that PC to the server room eventually.

I've fixed mine 3 times but some problems cannot be fixed by the homeowner. I've replaced a bad cap, fan motor, bad relay but if your evap coil leaks or compressor fails you will be callin in the pros, plus, like he said it's under warranty and opening anything would probably void it. OP, beware that many warranty's are parts ONLY and you could still get stuck with a bill for the labor to install it..

And btw thats in India not the cool america..

You do realize that there are many different climates and temperatures in North America?, "Death Vally" has the highest recorded temperature, and Alaska is frozen over for 9 months of the year, the "cool america" comment just bumped you up on the dumb-o-meter quite a bit..

The fact is for the most part the United States has moderate temps most of the time. Sure there are outliers and exceptions...

True, but you live in FL as do I and living without AC is possible but you would be one sweaty, miserable mofo..

I live coastal so most of the time that breeze off the ocean is nice, however; I keep my windows closed because even a block or two from the beach = dust.
 
So worst summers are humid, as humans tolerance of heat very much depends of relative humidity and wind. Nothing worse than stale hot and wet air.
 
It was 110F yesterday here. We are still lacking amenities like insulation, some of our doors/windows, etc. So it was 110F inside the house as well. 🙂

I'm glad the temp is back down to about 80 today.
 
Thankfully we're in a period of global cooling. ;-)

Just think of the size of AC we're going to need.

I'm about 1.5 miles from the beach (as the crow flies), one thing I've noticed is how fast stuff rusts the closer to the beach you are, AC condensing units in particular rust out quick as it's fan draws large amounts of salty mist through the coils..
 
We try and avoid the a/c, which has taken the inside temp to 88 lately. My office gets into the low 90's tho. We're just cheap like that.

Yeah, you just go around here with the threads you are hopeless in your life, but you tell others to be a man...this is uncool dude. Some people feel bad when the temp is high and need AC to feel ok.

I am uncomfortable outside at temps over 90.
When the temps go over about 70-75, the AC comes on. In my car, even if opening the windows would cool the interior enough, I still use the AC. I don't care for the wind or road noise.
