You can tell it was a knee jerk reaction... he obviously didn't have time to fully analyze the situation. He looked sorry and embarrassed afterward.

Lighten up and give the guy the benefit of the doubt. That's the risk you take setting up pranks of this nature, and besides, I'm sure the kid is fine.
